From what we've seen so far, it's reasonable to say that Laudna isn't stuck with Delilah. Delilah is stuck with Laudna.

I didn't get it at first either, it wasn't until watching this video that I made the connection between Delilah Briarwood and Laudna. Then again, I never watched Campaign 1, so that probably doesn't help.

@@KarlEller I highly recommend it. The Briarwood Arc is one of the best arcs from Campaign 1. Of course it will be part of the cartoon series if I remember the Kickstarter stretch goals correctly.

@@sansprobus7209 I would recommend watching them in your spare time cause it would take FOREVER to go through the first two campaign. Campaign 1is rough around the edges but it literaly the start of an amazing story and has some great arcs. Campaign 2 Is getting to know the characters from their start and see their triumps and making a name for themselves.

Her rapt gaze the whole time is great. I was trying to tell if it was just the wide eyed curiosity of Fearne or Ashley genuinely enthralled by Laudna's story and I think it may be some mixture of both. Loving the start of this campaign.

Plot twist theory: Laudna was one of the people that were hung from the Sun Tree and dressed as Vox Machina. She came back to life after Delilah cast her spell to create that undead army.

Been calling this since she revealed being from Whitestone. My guess is that since she was magically inclined before she died, the Briarwoods may have selected her as a backup body for Delilah if/when she died, like what happened in Campaign One those couple times. However, Laudna re-possesed her body and was Reborn, and when Delilah's spirit went back to her next backup body after Vox Machina killed her again, she instead found herself entrapped. After that, they must have entered into a Warlock pact, if for nothing else than their own collective survival.

Could very much be a harry/voldemort type of thing. When she finally died the last time, some fragment of her soul as a backup went into Laudna. I'm interested to see how Matt will play a much more "human" Warlock patron this go around.

Her time as a BBEG has long since passed. I would actually be very disappointed if we just end up fighting her just one more time.

It might also bring The Raven Queen down on her in a dangerous way. She has now, as of this message writing, encountered a servant of the Raven Queen though under a different name. I suspect this might prove pivotal given the lore bomb Marisha gave recently too.

I love how when Delilah starts talking to Laudna - the second it's *confirmed* Delilah, every single person at that table has a physical reaction. And it is genuinely the players reacting in that way, staring intently with a bit of rage, and even Robbie is more subdued with understanding. It's like being able to see the cast as the audience who knows who the enemy is before the characters do in a movie or tv show, staring at the screen and showing the seriousness of the moment that wouldn't come across without the specific context of previous campaigns. (Also - would've *loved* to see Travis's reaction because holy shit)

I like to think that their past characters are all chilling in a theater in their respective heads watching the new campaign. Vex is seething in Laura's head, Vax is doing the same in Liam's, Percy is throwing popcorn and screaming at the screen in Taliesin's, and Keyleth is having an existential crisis.

This is a mark of Matt's ability to create living characters and how invested they all are in their players. It's to the point that Matt brings an old foe back and they all feel fury at this. Edit: The way Del keeps showing up, I would *not* put it past Matt to bring Sylas back in too.

Delilah Briarwood was very powerful necromancer, and we already know she was researching ways to prolong her life. She definitely knew how to create clones of herself (as per the spell), and she probably also was learning from Vecna how to become a lich.

One thing about Laudna, they really should agree on how well known the adventures of VM are to the world. There's no way Laudna doesn't know DeRolos are back in Whitestone while knowing that the Briarwoods are dead

We don't know how long Laudna has been living in Marquet. She died 30 years ago, came back to life and ran, spending that 28 years moving from cabin to cabin, meeting Imogen two years ago. If she left to Marquet as soon as she could she would've still known the Briarwoods were killed and replaced even without Delilah telling her but not know them otherwise, since Vox Machina were mostly known in Tal'Dorei but not outside of it all that well.

@@High-LordHarza I am just nitpicking here though and Laudna is currently my favorite character in C3 and loving CR in general. But considering The Great J'mon Sa Ord played a big part in the Vecna conflict, I wish VM is more well known in Marquet. I just think that the cast is still carrying the hesitation to reference C1 that they had in C2 and haven't talked about how well know the God killing adventuring group from Taldorei is

@@alexanderstar1998 Thing is, J'mom Sa Ord being a dragon is only known to a handful of people, and being an immensly powerful dragon he wouod be able to fly his way into the fight without anyone in his city noticing. Also, it's not like the Vecna fight would have been noticed all around the world, and while I am sure the stories about Vox Machina spread believing in them is another thing entirely.

@@looneypersoney Laudna's patron is Delilah Brirewood. Laudna cut some of Bertrand's hair off before they shipped his body to Whitestone. Vex or Percy is gonna be able to sense that connection, and they'll hunt every remnant of the Brirwoods to every corner of the world. but seeing as Percy is an old man now, they'll send their kids to track them down and kill or capture Laudna.

just imagine, the party thinks everything is going great. then a flashbang and several manners balls incompasitate the party, finally out of the darkness steps Vesper and the twins wearing plague doctor masks, wielding guns. apologise for the inconvenience and take or take out, Laudna. probably throwing some platinum on the ground for their troubles. it probably won't go down like that, but it's my best guess.
