On this week's Pubcast we take a look at Nigel Farage's first night in the jungle, and why it's no surprise he's "come off well" so far.
We then chat Glastonbury, after Ed and Ava bagged tickets for next year.
Then we look ahead to Wednesday's Autumn Statement, where the Tories are planning to cut taxes, according to Rishi Sunak.
Subscribe to our new podcast now, or you're a silly goose:

He is popular in this in the same way Trump was popular on The Apprentice. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if he is under scrutiny or not a huge part of the population like and agree with him, and no rational debate will change their mind. This just provides them with confirmation bias to their own right wing views.

If people want to complain at itv for platforming these people, then a) do not watch it or engage in it even if it is out of hate, you are giving them money. B) look at the sponsors, that is how they make the money to give farage his millions, they are responsible too.

We had a similar issue with noise complaints in Auckland. People moved into houses near Western Springs Stadium - an open air venue for sports, speedway, and music concerts. Every time the speedway's on, a bunch of people complain and say the site should be shut down. Weirdly, these same people don't also complain when there's a concert held at the venue.

It is a disgrace that Farage is once again being given his undue share of TV exposure. I've heard it suggested that he should be voted to remain on "I'm a Celebrity..." until the end, so that he has to undergo as many "trials" as possible. However there are rumours that he has negotiated a deal that allows him to bypass many of the trials. It is also rumoured that he may be paid £500,000 for his appearance. I urge everybody to boycott this show. DO NOT WATCH IT!!!!

I watched the first episode of the first ever series. I came to the conclusion that it was simply another junk 'Reality' tv show and not worth wasting my life on. I don't think I've missed anything of importance by avoiding these types of shows. Any show that pays someone like Farage to be on is lowered massively in my estimation. However, if they can put together a show called 'I'm a Tory, Send Me to Ruanda', I might be persuaded to watch - provided they have to hitch their own way back after the programme has run for at least 5 years.

Loved the podcast guys great stuff. Thought it was weird when Ed said that we needed more racist and mentally ill personalities on TV. It was also a little odd when he said the history of slavery was equal to Rory Stewart's podcast. It was also strange when he said he likes to use his twitter alts to harass come dine with me contestants. Even Ava "2 gap yahhs" Santina tried to get him to rollback his comments. Who will stop Edward Campbell?

George Osborne can hold political opinions and say what he likes in the media, it doesn't mean we have to listen to him. It's people like Ed Balls legitimising and making him appear agreeable and clubbable that really boils my piss. It's no wonder people frequently say 'all politicians are the same' when you have a supposed Labour party member in Balls cosying up to the chief architect of austerity and the thousands of lives that at best they made incredibly difficult and at worst totally destroyed. I'd love to have a conversation with Balls about it, because it makes me wonder if people like him have any idea about just what effect austerity had on communities across the UK. If Balls is typical of the type of politics and politicians we're going to get under a possible/probable Starmer government, then that scares the shit out of me. Red Tories as some people in Scotland have labelled Labour in the past seems about right.

Whilst I never did model UN. I did think whilst you were talking about it that I probably would have made an effort to had there been the option to do one, but during a given time period. I would have personally been more willing to try and embody the motivations and traits of a country within a specific period of history. Be it a decade for example, and not necessarily limited to the existence of the actual UN. For example having none set during the cold war, you might even be able to be quite specific with the dates. Having a mock meeting set either before/during/after the cuban missile crisis, Fauklands war or a fictional escalation of some kind set in a certain year. Having the different delegations research that country during the time period, try and have them understand that countries social and cultural influences and pressures etc, then using that to interact with the other countries of that time would actually be really good for making a particular period feel more relevant and 'alive' than just purely talking about those events as dates and stats etc. Especially given the common trap of knowing how a certain event actually played out, that would be learned and known by those involved, but running and thinking of it as a "what else could have happened in that situation" would really give a feel for political tensions at that time period. (Plus as it would rely more on an interpretation of the past with hindsight, theres less threat of accidentally falling into or perpetuating harmful stereotypes or other sorts of offence that could be caused by misrepresenting a current countries positions.)
