I remember that day. It was so Hot and Bulgaria couldn't handle the heat. And Nigerian players were way too fast. Crazy how Bulgaria ended up making it all the way to the Semi Finals after this loss.

FOR INDIRECT KICK , the referee indicates by raising the arm above the head; this signal is maintained until the kick has been taken and the ball touches another player, goes out of play or it is clear that a goal cannot be scored directly. FOR A DIRECT KICK referee signals by keeping one arm horizontal and pointing in the direction the kick has to be taken

You talking rubbish! You're either too young to have watched any of the Nigerian players prior to 2002 or know little about football! Nigeria were ranked 4th in the world in 1994 by FIFA ⚽️ Nigeria won the 1996 Olympics beating Brazil and Argentina in the semifinals and finals. You shouldn't even be commenting.....

This is definitely the most overrated African team of all time . No achievement whatsoever. Not even good enough to progress to the world cup last eight . What a useless team . I remember 1998 world cup being walloped by Denmark 😂😂😂

Before this 1994 team, no team from Africa had progressed beyond the round of 16 except Cameroon once. Members of this team had also finished second in the 1988 and 1990 African Nations cup, placed third in 1992, won it in 1994 to go to the world cup as African champion and were ranked 5th in the world by FIFA. They were not overrated. Their performance for both club and county said it all. Yekini was highest goal scored in Portugal, Finidi won the champions league soon after this, and Amuneke went to Barca, others played in Belgium, England, Netherlands, Germany, etc.

Some of the players went on to win the Olympic gold medal 2 years later. That 94 team was the best ever Africa has seen since then imo
