Pope John Paul II arrived on Saturday (21/03) in Abuja, federal capital of Nigeria, for a pastoral visit. General Sani Abacha and other government members welcomed the pope on arrival as children dressed in the traditional dress of Nigeria's various regions waved small national flags.
