A Chinese-owned supermarket in Nigeria's capital Abuja has been shut by the authorities over allegations that it denied entry to African shoppers. The supermarket in Abuja allegedly only permitted people of “Chinese descent” to enter its premises. The supermarket is located in a building that is run by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The closure of the supermarket came after massive outrage among Nigerians after some locals shared experiences of being denied entry into the store for not being Chinese. The Chinese store has now been closed until the owner testifies to the Nigerian consumer watchdog. China has been notorious for its racism against Africans, with reports suggesting that racism against Africans on Chinese social media was at an all-time high.

You mean we refuse to be slaves because we werent working on it and being paid and the owners refused to pay us after emancipation. Chinese and Indians together make up less than 3% of Jamaica population and there are public beaches not just partially private beaches in Jamaica. The last time Chinese tried to be racist to Jamaicans they were chased out of Jamaica and banned from migrating to there by the Africans.

I'm carribean and European. In my own experience, the Chinese diaspora in the carribean is very comfortable with being extremely racist and insular. Ever since the Chinese government started investing in my parents' country, there has been an influx of Chinese shop owners who only serve other Chinese people. They even discriminate carribeans of Chinese descend. The price former colonies are willing to pay in order to not have to rely on the West, is too high.

I agree that this should not have happened. We African Americans have been trying to warn them for years. This would happen. Especially when their kids are going to be born there. I inspected a vessel full of Chinese crew here in Nigeria. Damn that was the first time i ever saw and felt how racism is. And i understood more why black footballers leave the field when racially abused. These Chinese crew said to us blacks aren't allowed into the vessel, so we should sit on the deck. I had to burst in with my 2 colleagues and we exchanged insults. I said to them this is my country. At the end of the day they apologized but the damage already done. That shyt was painful and brought tears to my eyes. It hurts, you won't know till it happens to you. It got into my head that i started looking at my skin and was just seeing the difference between both skins. I was speechless and it really hit me hard. I again faced few but i learned from the first experience. And i put them in their place.
