I was in Nigeria for 3 months last year doing missions and had the food there. It was superb but all the meats (chicken, beef, goat) were cooked too tough and chewy to eat. It was so tough that it made it too much of a challenge to really enjoy. I believe it must be a cultural thing why the meats are cooked so tough. But the seasoning and flavors are excellent.

I’m South African living in England and I have to say Nigerian jellof rice is one of my comfort food when I miss my continent 😂😢❤ No one hates jellof rice 😂

It's a disappointment when the meat is tough. Nigerian beef stew with fufu is delicious. My mom used to make the stew over white rice for us when we were younger. I introduced the futu to my kids when they were in middle school but made fried fish stew instead and it's just as delicious 😋
