Please read ancient history those of us who were raised during colonial times learnt the history af Ashanti empire which stretched from Senegal through Togo, Benin, Nigeria to Cameron. There was songhai empire before Ashanti empire and that stretched from East, west, north a little into south. Please read Carol Thompson's Asante Empire history book. There are other history books that you will find useful. Let us know our history so we can gain matured identity that fosters unity and love across Africa.

Let us the old ones teach you the young ones ancient history as taught in schools then, told by the forefathers and foremothers who we are indebted to and still sit on their shoulders. The Ashanti Empire was one of a series of states along the coast including Dahomey, Benin, and Oyo. The Ashanti had mountains and large agricultural surpluses.......
