Great flugel horn performance. In Canada we have Guido Basso who I have often thought might be the best jazz flugel hornist in the World for his emotive playing, but I like Vizzuti very much too for different reasons.

Mid 20's is a good guess definitely. As good as he is at jazz he's an even better classical player.

@Zacht37 The word "better" is all a personal thing. There is no right or wrong, it's like your trumpet & MPC set-up. If it's right for YOU, then it's the best, but for somebody else it may not work. We can critique players all day, but in the end it's what YOU think is better, who cares what others think as long as you dig it!

Beautiful tune. Does anybody know how old Vizzutti was when he did this?

I guess the best way to get good endurance is to put som hours of old fashion practise behind you. If you're more than a intermedian player you could try Caruso. Talk with a trumpetpro, The Caruso Method can be dangerous, but really helpful if you do them correct!

what did he do at 2:33 that sounded so freaking intense

It's just a matter of practice! You should be able to use both kinds of vibrato, they're good for different kind of music. Do halfstep-bendings and stuff like that to gain controll over your lips and adapt it later to your music and enjoy!
