I came here because of an interview about the making of this film in Stephen Thrower's wonderful book Nightmare USA (although I already knew about Brad since I've been a fan since high school lol). The director, Tony Malanowski, said that the name was a reference to an old Bela Lugosi movie called Night of Terror, although during shooting they jokingly referred to this film as Night of Malarkey, as well as Night of Bankruptcy. He shot the film with a budget of $4000 and undertook all of the technical aspects, except for practical effects, since he wanted to experience as much of making a movie as he could. Something which worked out for him in the end since he now has a "comfortable six figure" job working for Hollywood studios. Funnily enough, he also said the opening "bar scene" wasn't supposed to take place in a bar, it was simply how the basement in his friend's house looked, nothing more. They spoke quietly during that scene since the friend's brother was upstairs studying for his medical school exams, and one of the reasons they kept the cameras pointed at their backs was that the actors didn't have the time to learn their lines, so they placed their scripts on the counter.

I agree here. I miss all the obscure 60-70s stuff (though I realize there is a finite amount of those), also I feel that if the movies main dela is that it's really really boring, it forces some of the best jokes out of Brad X3>

@@GreycatRademenes I feel the same about NC. He used to like 80s-90s shitty kids movies but now he does anything recent. I know Nostalgia can be considered in different timelines, but there's no reason he should do stuff that just came out even if he has nostalgic backgrounds. I do enjoy/watch the occasional NC if it's a movie I want him to review with then and there but I've grown tired of him most of the time.
@jadedheartsz2 жыл бұрын
@@TheListenerCanon I was fine with NC reviewing more recent films, what I didn't get was him reviewing films that were still playing in theaters, that just made zero sense to me.

I actually camped just next to a confederate graveyard in the Ozarks. It was our most comfortable night, considering the flooding that we experienced later. No zombies, but we did find a salamander and heard wip o wills all night, which were a little spooky. Wasn't the campsite where we got covered in daddy long legs either.
