Night to day on the UP! Sunrise drone view, two "night mode' trains, Amish buggy, 5 trains total!

9/30/2022, Montour, Ia. This West bound empty coal train has a hand full of CNW hoppers and is really moving! An East bound mixed freight has a great variety as it passes by the high wattage lights! 10/01/2022 I added a little light to this early morning West bound empty coal train. I took advantage of the sunrise with the drone. The Iowa River valley had a touch of fog and made for a great view as the sun comes up! After a Amish horse and buggy this West bound autorack speeds under the drone! A loaded East bound coal train is a long one and has 3 mid train DPUs. The drone is great for showing the mounds of coal!

The night action on 30 September 2022 was great, Red! You were correct in saying it was hard to see the Chicago & North Western Railroad empty coal gondolas in that first train. The speed of the train made it difficult to pick out the CNW on those cars. The morning "night effect lighting" on the first train on 1 October 2022 helped us to see the train better. The drone footage of the sunrise over the Iowa River Valley provided a beautiful view of the area. Thanks for showing us bridges over the Iowa River. That westbound auto rack train was long. The loaded eastbound coal train with the drone footage was spectacular. Thank you for uploading this video. I presume there will be additional videos of more trains that you captured in Montour, Iowa on 1 October 2022.

Awesome night train action by the light of a fire pit, ain't nothing better. Terrific shot of a beautiful sunrise in Iowa 👍👌 by your drone, nice. An amish horse and buggy in this day of iphones , computers, and high tech automobiles, only in America. A really great video Red, thanks.

Truly a beautiful sunrise with that low hanging fog and that unique perspective of how the river changed course. Nice to see all those CNW hoppers with theUP and leasers but that train is a mystery and the early a.m.coal train I couldn't make out the initials but it probably came from Indiana or Michigan. Nice fast auto rack train and the Amish buggy wasn't bad either. EB Freight had some nice fresh non graffiti cars the best was the mechanical reeferbut one vintage CLSX cover Hopper snuck in there. The last EB coal train was WPSX for Weston upfront and mostly WEPX in the back for Oak Creek. Next 4 days too cold to even sit by the fire pit with brisk winds and low 40s. Thanks for sharing all those views

You're welcome Paul B! I'm gonna need a wind block by the fire pit here soon. The CNW originally designed those 3 river bridges for high water times. The multiple channels would help relieve the over head truss bridge from flood waters. Gonna work on some Fall color trains while we still have foliage!

That westbound autorack sure wasn't wasting any time . Must have been a two-for-one dutchie sale at the Dunkins in the next block or two 🤣🤣 . That eastbound coaler was pulling hard and pretty quick too considering the tonnage in tow . Good work Red ! Red I googled Montour Ia and Ruby's steak house seems to be world famous. Population is 205. Nice small community with a great steakhouse!! Really great for railfanning also, enjoy your videos !

Nighttime Action with Trains and a Fire Pit. Only in Iowa and America. Need to get the Empty Coal Drag out to Wyoming to Fill it Up for the Return Trip back to Dump it. 👍
