Couldn't agree more... I mean - I wouldn't feel the same connection with a person who is listening to a completely different music genre than I do. It's so much more discussions and pleasant moments listening to similar music and appreciating the time discovering new songs with each other that you both like. :)

October of 2001. She said it was over. I remember how those words hit me like a sledgehammer. As the months passed, the pain inside was real and constant, and in looking for answers, I started to think back about what I had done to make her walk away. I started to think about all the times I'd pushed her away from me, how I shut her out and only heard what she was saying instead of actually listening to her. I never hit her but I would let my temper get the best of me. She was just looking for someone to love her and I spent the year we were together just pushing her away from me. Ive had a lot of time to think about that. Years later, I still lay alone in bed at night, listening to music if sleep isnt coming. I listened to this song tonight and it brought back all those memories, brought back all that regret from when I was young and proud and stupid. Sorry KZfaq, had to get that off my chest tonight. After all these years, I still love her and I still regret what I lost by my doing. A great song can do that.

If I had the choice of never feeling the pain of loss, regret and longing over never knowing what it's like to love someone so much it hurts - and having that love returned ... I would still take the pain. Because that kind of love doesn't come around very often. Those who know what it's like to feel that deeply about someone are the lucky ones ... no matter how the story turns out.

Exactly, the ups, downs, that whole road. Though I don't have the traditional loss, since it wasn't really a breakup, but a change in the way we are, it was ok. I'm sure there was fear involved when the realization hit and she had to tell me the revelation and I wasn't upset in the slightest. We're still the closest of friends and I wouldn't change a thing because out of everything I know we still care about each other the same as always, and though the dynamic changed, my love hasn't and my promise to never abandon her will remain.

I needed to hear this thank you it’s true , loving someone that much is very beautiful and very painful but it’s a once in a lifetime you get the chance to love someone to that degree, it’s a feeling deep in the heart and soul that can’t ever be explained even in words. Lost the love of my life 3 yrs ago in 2019 to adultry and lust but I focus all my time on my inner growth as a woman and remaining single. At least I can say I’ve given my all and got to experience the feeling of genuinely falling in love and loving someone with such purity. Its just indescribable wouldn’t change it ❤

When i heard this song it blew my mind how beautiful the words are, the sound of his voice and the sound of the guitar playing. i can relate to every word it gives me goose bumps. Been seperated for 9 month's from my husband but i find myself still in Love with my husband even after all these yrs he still gives me butterflies and makes me feel nervous . we have gone thru so much together but i still fall in love all over again when i see him and he is my FIRE he turns me on every time i see him or hear his voice. I crave him and his touch.being in Love is beautiful but sometimes even thats not enough we are getting a divorce but we will have to just cherish the love we have for each other we are needing to take our own paths for a reason but i feel lucky to say i got to experience true unconditional love. I feel his pain in this song.

Definitely has that nostalgic 80s/90s feel of just cruising w/the love of one's life/some past love lost to regretful actions...& maybe the sands of time. It's really sad...but somehow, also gives a sense of peace as well. Maybe it's a "cosmic" closure thing that comes thru the music; If that's a possible thing. I'd sure love to believe so.

Had this song been released in the 80s, it would have been in a John Hughes film. That’s not to say it sounds dated. It is to say that it’s a great song that transcends eras. If there is a modern day equivalent of John Huges films, Night Traveler belongs in them. Great stuff!
