She feels the tug in her heart as the doorbell rings and steadily rises to her feet, lifting the latch and turning the handle to be met with a note being thrust into her hand. "Your husband has been wounded in battle. He was shot in close combat against an enemy combatant and has gone missing. We hope you have support during these tough times." Somewhere in her heart she feels her hope wilt and die, but a whisper of determination brought her back to the window where she remains, waiting for her lost husband.

The wife was about to get onto a lifeboat and survive, but learnt that her husband was going down with the ship. “Where you go, I go!” The pair were last seen heading towards their cabin, their maid taking the empty spot the wife left. Her name was Ida Straus, and I respect her.
