Honestly, it’s probably born from a blend of faith, belief in a powerful ideal, and a mastery of pacing which truly puts the Battle Hymn of the Republic as among one of the greater remixed songs in American history. Right up there with the star spangled banner (check out when the American Rugby team plays it, it’s fucking glorious!) which of course was moreso based in poetry. And maybe Dixie, which honestly has seen a dozen remixes, (Union and Southern, along with post war clean ups and changes) removed from their original context. Still, love the song, if I ever had to go to war, I’d hum the Battle Hymn of the Republic with gusto.
