Align T-Rex 470 L Build plus setting it up on Version 2 of my Articulated Helicopter Test Stand.

Getting an Align T-Rex L Dominator Helicopter for Christmas, had me assembling this kit the next day. It took about 4 days to finish it, as I took my time. Knowing the capability of this helicopter and my unfamiliarity with the Beast X Flybarless stabilizer, I decided to build another one of my Helicopter Test/Training stands, since I already had the base for my Tethered Planes. The Test stand allowed me to see my ailerons were working backwards, set the gain of the tail rotor gyro, and check the tracking and balance of the blades. It is a great tool and I am glad I have built another. Thanks for watching, stay well and God Bless.

So with beastX or any FBL unit never use trims on your radio! It will make the FBL go crazy. Always use trim in the FBL or make sure you have a perfectly level swash plate.

I'll keep that in mind, and I know it states that, but I was able to trim it on the stand, so not sure what's up with that until spring when I finally fly it.

Of all the things I notice is the Koyosho shirt, my first heli was a Concept 30. I like my 470L and 550, 600,700 450 and the mosquito like 150, too many🙄. I remember guys using similar stands back in the 80's when a successful flight was when you could hover long enough to check the tracking. 😂

Oorah! A hi-tech build and a test stand to boot that dialed it in before flight. Simply amazing Dave, now pray for blue skies and no wind for its maiden flight..! SemperFi, and thumbs up for a mighty fine vid.

Hi Dave, That is an improvement over version1. It was easy to see the gyro gain was set to high for heading lock. When I was going through my storage unit found a Kalt Whisper partially built. Did find all the parts except the rotor blades had deteriorated since they were not covered. Going to put a brushless motor in it and have found replacement carbon fiber rotor blades. Will have to be careful flying it as no replacement parts are available. Will build a test stand with the same capabilities as yours. You and Ilea stay safe.

Outstanding! She sure looks great and sounds even better! Such power! I noticed the tail gain right away but I know that’s an easy adjustment. I can’t wait to see her fly! Great job on the training stand too, I always admired your ability to build things that you need. You never know, good weather could come any time without notice. Here in KC just this week it was sunny and in the high 50’s! Lots of snow today though. 🥶 Semper Fi sir.

Hi Dave, I'm just about to set up a trex 600 nitro FBL with BeastX. How easy is it to program??

I put mine in stock and did not program anything, except to turn the Tail Rotor servo gain down. Other than that, it all looks good and I'll just have to wait to fly it when the snow melts. Thanks.

Another awesome gift you got there from the Mrs Dave that's cool you finally got your hands on a trex 470 dominator also it's flyberless I can't wait til your weather over there gets better so you can take it for a test flight who knows maybe you can actually put on a scale fuse on it in the future???

That would be cool, as Pod and Boom Helis don't have as much Character as an Apache! Lots of snow, big drifts and high winds last night has now brought flying this more in spring, but you never know. White snow and flying is a lot of Bright besides frozen fingers, so have to wait. Thanks much.

@@NightFlyyer The weather where I'm at over here today the high temps are just 20 degrees below zero all day long so I'm staying in today the only flying I'm doing is on my RF 9.5. BTW Dave why don't you find a scale fuse like a Airwolf or Blue Thunder?(I still remember that video you showed from back in the day in which you helped out making that film by flying your byron f-16 in that film in one of the action scenes)

@@NightFlyyer Of course Dave you do have to fine tune that heli for your liking to get comfortable with before you do anything the only reason I bring up putting a scale fuse on it because I notice you don't have to many scale r/c heli's in less you count those smaller ones you got.

@@3DMOFO2020 Right on. 99% of my helis are not scale, except for the Hyperfly Apache, that I invented for myself. That is the only I I had to buy, ironically, because all the others were sent to me from folks and subscribers from all over after the fire destroyed everything in 2016. I will see how it goes. Hi I have a slight tail wagged issue.. can it be the belt not tighten enough?

I dont think so. The tail pitch slider may not be sliding properly on the shaft or the servo is binding. A slight adjustment on the Gyro can be also made.

TREX 550? Looks more like a TREX 500 to me!...LOL

I dont think I said anywhere this was a TRex 550. I have a 500 and a 550. But this is a T Rex 470, which is written all over the box and painted on the Canopy. These blades actually measure slightly less length by 30 mm than my TRex 500, hence the 470 name.

@@NightFlyyer NO... When you was holding the TREX 500, you called it the TREX 550.. I'm looking at it and thinking that looks like the 500 size.. I'm highly aware that the helicopter your building and presenting is a TREX 470 of course.. I wasn't being malicious towards you..

@@GadgetMart Actually, the AR7200 BX has a RX in it as an all in one with 2 antenna wires hanging out. My Trex ( which I finally got to fly) I am using the AR 620 Receiver in addition to the Beast X . The beast X has no receiver.
