One correction to the tips in the video: You CAN move structures that have already been built by hitting "X" to enter the build mode. This can also be used to deconstruct and get all of the materials back, but if a falling tree destroys your things you'll only get half of the materials back.

One other thing: It isn't always the head for extra damage, some creatures have different areas that are their weak point

@@dominichehner5739 sure but early game it’s all headshots for crit damage, and heart shots for the extreme damage number. Like you might hit 80 damage withe sling bow, 120 headshot, and 1200 with a heart shot but the heart shot can be really hard to make during a fight and you can’t hit it with a melee weapon.

In it's current state, you can buy 1 water for 10 essence dust and extract it for 40. This means that if you repeat that cycle, you can get thousands of essence dust within a couple minutes. Then buy all schematics, build a few crafting benches beside the trader and upgrade your gear, all in one spot.... rock on 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

Great video! I hope they do some work on the NPC companions so they will be more useful. I'd like to see options to give them specific orders like "collect [x] of [resource], stack multiple orders (do this, then this, etc.), auto equip appropriate tools based on the orders, attack my target, defend me, attack specific target, etc.

Yeah they're pretty simple at the moment. They'll automatically put resources into blueprints you have waiting on materials, and gather resources according to the tool you have equiped on them, and then help in combat but that seems to be it so far. I think they have bigger plans for them though.

Excellent vid. My biggest gripe with the game was the whole predator/prey hides/leather/scraps thing as I didn't realize there was a difference in the stats. Thanks for pointing that out, as I dig extra levels of unique complexity like that!

It does lead to having a LOT of different resource types around, but it is handy to have some buff variation at least :)

As a note, during the stress test, you absolutely can deconstruct after a thing is built without breaking it. The option required you to go into building mode since the piece was already complete, but it was possible.

It's been a few months since this video came out, but there's a few differences now. The sickle is a great starter weapon as it can be thrown like a boomerang and can also gather when throwing as well. It's stupid handy and really fast damage both in melee and ranged. Some items automatically pull from storage boxes now but some don't. Doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason. One hide comes out to make leather, but another type doesn't. The first person you can recruit actually comes with a pick, not an axe and can haul absolute fuck tons of stone. I'm pretty sure she'll be nerfed because if you keep her equipment up she can tank shit you don't have a hope against.

Yeah they've made a number of updates to the game since release, which is good. The NPC you recruit seems to have unlimited carrying capacity.

I believe the dev team is investigating a potential bug with the gardening. I don't have details at the moment but I know some people raised a gardening issue with them.

What about splitting a stack in your inventory so you can drop half of it on the ground?

You can’t split in your inventory. Only when moving them to a container

how do you get the umbrella to reliably work?

He umbrella uses stamina while you float. When you run out you just drop so you need to be careful. You just hit the jump button when you’re in the air to deploy it but you have to have it equipped at the time in your offhand.

I`ve seen the tree stumps chopped as well. They then disappear I believe....

Yes they do. They take a bit more chopping than taking the tree down and usually give 1 or 2 wood bundles

This was recorded on an earlier build. They changed the UI after the server stress test when people were complaining about the UI

"X" will allow you to disassemble/move placed objects. might give you more mats back than just destroying your objects.

and you use essence to repair your gear.

@@CrypticFoxGamingeither its coming, or there is something in game that will eventually allow you to craft while items are in your storage containers. can't remember where I heard that, but it might have been in the nightingale discord.

I'm so confused because my recruit doesn't attack and he has the hunting knife.. he just goes near an enemy and does nothing

did you just give them the knife, or did you make them equip it? In their inventory you have to right-click on the tool you want them to use and choose equip. You'll know they're using it when they hold it in their hand.
