My dad was a D-Day veteran (third wave, I don't recall which beach). He was a rather old soldier at 33 years old and passed away in 1982. I still miss him.

My dad went to Germany towards end of the war liberated concentration camps! Went on to use GI bill to go to college and became a doctor only to be killed in a plane crash in 1969🫡

Probably mid 90s and older. The 90ish year old Vets served during the Korean war.

My mother's father is a WW II veteran and fittingly, he passed on D Day in 1966 in Iowa. I'm so proud of him now as an adult and registered Daughter of the American Revolution, 1776 in Washington, DC. He served in the US Army Corp of Engineers after graduating from Engineering School at Iowa State University with his 3 engineering brothers.

I don't understand why there's a conflict of interest in the GA case. If the District Attorney had an affair with the judge, a member of the jury or someone on the defense team (or even a defendant or witness) that would be different. When you hire someone to work for you, you're both on the same team! She did not break any laws! Anyway, 3 of Trump's attorneys already pleaded guilty (Chesebro, Ellis and Powell.)

I think it is a crime that the retired school teacher from Pennsylvania has not ever had a cost of living increase. As for myself, I am 79 years old and am a Substitute School teacher. I have never wanted to retire, and I am thankful to God that I can still work. The combination of my monthly SS payment and income from my job get me by and I am comfortable. I don't have a car, and I do not want one. I rely on buses and walking. I can take a cab, but that is rarely necessary. I do not have Internet, but I have my Prepaid Smartphone which also gives me KZfaq so that I can keep up with the News, as well as old movies, which I really enjoy.

The Perugian press slandered her and stalked her, she couldn't buy lingere without them questioning it. They labeled her "Foxy-knoxy" She was abused by Italian Police. etc.

I know the point of the specific folks chosen for the retirement story was to make even middle/upper middle class people feel represented in their economic sacrifices, but oh man. That old lady had a really really nice house. She had to sacrifice cable and her favorite foods? and mulch? I mean, I agree it’s not fair when you don’t get what you thought you were promised (although she didn’t say she was promised a cost of living increase) but there are retirees who are struggling with actual scarcity. Same for the business owner guy. He did not look that old, and he was clearly helping his young son take over the business, a business that evidently has the capital to purchase and maintain equipment like the ones in the video. I’m not saying their stories aren’t worth telling, but many of your audience members probably see those two people as lucky and well-off

Do you think that retired teacher cleans her own house? She might have groceries delivered, she might rely on a senior aide to help her prep meals twice a week. Avoiding a fall is the biggest thing for her. Those of us who have seen our elders fall and die within six months, it’s a miracle for us to see that woman thriving in her old age.

**Social Security is taken out of your own paycheck! 🙄 **It is your money that has been subtracted by your Employer to pay for (Social Security) a BENEFIT that you are entitled to, because you have been paying for it, like if it was an Insurance, for example, but it’s not, it’s your money, your HARD EARNED MONEY!!🤔 **WE ARE NOT SLAVES!!!! **That money belongs to US, the people that work hard in this World and some that don’t really work hard, 😲but still are ENTITLED to their own money!!! 🤨If Social Security is eliminated, then that money MUST be returned back to the people, those that WORK, it’s their pay!!🧐 Not the Government’s you , crooked thieves!!!

We were told that by the time we reached the age to collect Social Security that it would no longer be there. The government kept re-appropriated money out of Social Security to spend on other things. So we didn't expect any Social Security. What Social Security you get is worth about 25 cents on the dollar.

My mother is basically retired on disability and only has one arm. And her good arm has a torn rotator cuff. She gets $800 a month to live on that’s 9600 per year. 😢

...while the likes of Marjorie "Traitor" Greene, Ted "Cancun Kid" Cruz, Matt "Molester" Gaetz, Lauren Bobblehead, Ron "Do Nothing Johnson" Gym Jordan, and House Squeaker Mike Jordan get a comfy annual 6 digit salary, generous benefits, and when they get sacked by the voters, a healthy pension on the taxpayers dime. Oh yeah, they also get to collect Social Security if they are old enough. Former House Speaker Paul Ryan, who when he was in office wanted to gut Social Security along with other social programmes seniors and the disabled depend on, receives an 86,000$ annual pension. That is 7 times what I get on Social Security a year and 9 times what you mother receives. On top of it he is also a wealthy to boot, worth about 7.5$ million. They got theirs and give the big middle finger to us.

Just before retiring, look for countries that have less expensive costs of living. Many ex pats live in such countries, have health care, afford to buy a home, even afford to have a pet or two, and live with solely SS and/or small amount of financial pensions. Some even work part time simply to keep active.

I like how the initial opening statement can be taken in two diatonically oppositional directions, the double-entendre possibilities they just opened themselves up to are endless. Either A: Boeing launched their first crewed mission to space Or B: Boeing has launched their first crude mission to space, which might be slightly more accurate. Probably not the best choice of phrasing in a world of clips and memes where context means nothing are everything.

The DoD needs Boeing to get its act together. The want to dump SpaceX and Elon Musk after his efforts to block the DoD from using DoD property but managed by SpaceX to communicate with US service members in Taiwan because it endangered Musk's commercial interests in China. This after Musk's interference I'm Ukraine which cost a lot of Ukrainian lives.

It’s basically like saying, I didn’t know I was addicted to opioids when I purchased that firearm. Basically they’re saying the threshold for being addicted changes, depending on peoples opinion. Basically to get a conviction, you would have to have all 12 people of the jury agree on the same definition of addiction

Then clearly the answer is that anyone who has sought treatment for addiction, been convicted of any drug related charges even if just a misdemeanor or civil infraction should be banned from owning a firearm for the 4est of their life.

Americans fought a long, hard, cold war against Communism. That was enough to allow American lawmakers to turn up their noses any time a program was labeled as "Socialism." However, that's the same reason that America has been left behind. It has embraced capitalism so completely that it has failed to take advantage of the obvious efficiencies and effectiveness that government organization can bring to areas like health care and education. Other countries have seen these opportunities for progress, are assisting their citizens, and have been surging ahead. Americans have been left to just watch as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Of course, there's nothing left to save for retirement! Vote Blue!
