Except that’s literally what they’re called by the government and they’ve been called that forever. It’s because you are entitled to the money. Programs that the government must pay for by law or entitlement programs including Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Other spending is non-entitlement and it’s called discretionary spending. This is not new. And you’re right. You paid for it. And you’re entitled to get your money. That’s why it’s called an entitlement

My SS contract signed with the government by paycheck deduction guaranteed full benefits at age 65. Then, without my consent it was changed to 67. You think you have any say in it?

It doesn't work like that. The payments you made went to fund the social security payments others were receiving at that time. Likewise when you retire your social security will come from those in the workforce today. Your money isn't sitting in a special account waiting for you to draw it and even if it was given inflation over the years it probably amount to a great deal.

Agree 👍. Worked for 40 years. Will be 68 next week. My money 💵 that was taken out of my paycheck. Thank goodness I was smart enough to be in the union and have a pension. Get medical and dental benefits. Invested my money. Never got married. One of the best decisions ever made and second best decision no kids. Retired at 58. Isn't that great. No debt. But the Golden years are not all it's cracked up to be. Our senior discounts are fading away. 😢😢😢

So he's not just talking about cuts in Social Security benefits, he means all government-provided benefits. Republicans have long wanted to privatize Social Security so investors could profit from it. Their cuts include continuing to raise the retirement age.

First of all social security isnt an entitlement every employee and employer put the money in socialsecurity ,it was put in a trust fund,the govt has stolen money to use on other things. Put all the money back .the govt has used (trust social security ) for other things put the money back now

Seeing those children in Gaza absolutely kills me. I am the mother of a special needs child. God that breaks me.😢 I'm praying that that little boy is going to get the food he said desperately needs.
