All About Parking and Power Over Residents! My park owner is still doing all he can to prevent me from selling my mobile home based on an arbitrary rule about parking. He refuses to work with me and negotiate anything. He is just another corporate landlord taking advantage of vulnerable residents. Protect yourself people, don't wait until you are faced with these issues to learn your rights as a resident.

There are relatively inexpensive wifi cameras, you could setup either just inside doorway or in window, making difficult to disable. You'd want to look at monthly fee price tiers. Would give proof if there is any escalation at your door or when there was posting of any paper notice. I realize this is your home and you want to be comfy, but perhaps sell anything you don't truly need. Being as ready as possible to leave in the vehicle will lower stress, even if you do prevail. I'm sure you'are aware of section 8. I don't know your current situation, but emergency vouchers and waiting list for LIHTC units are things to explore and perhaps apply for, so you have a backup soft landing escape plan. LIHTC units can be quite nice! Feel free to ignore low effort criticisms :) You'll get too many comments to respond to as your channel grows! Congratulations on being favored by the mysterious ways of the algorithm! Perhaps a short video explaining some of your understanding on current California laws and organizational movements would be interesting since so many people don't know.

If there is a hospital near you, you can rent your trailer out to a travelling nurse. They only stay for limited amounts of time but they pay great money. There are people who can help do all of it for you. If you can qualify for sec 8, get signed up as fast as possible. Tell them due to the current situation in the park you are at high risk for homelessness. Other options you haven't thought about.

My park owner prohibits renting out at all. You can only allow family members to stay with you for short periods of time, unless you put the family member on the rental agreement. And then you have to get a new rental agreement, and he can change your rules on it. You see what I’m working with?

Oh goodness he seems like a real pain in the dupa! Please don’t give up and give in,I just heard you say you may have to give up and stay for the next 2 years. I would be so sad for you if that’s what you had to revert to, hang in there and your subscribers will help you through this. It seems like you’ve made some nice and helpful connections through your searching for help with this problem. I wish you the best I am sorry I don’t have any advice for you as far as the rules and regulations go I live in Pennsylvania. Hang in there things will work out 🥰

Thank you, I'm not giving up per se, just saying that if he's going to drag out a legal fight for a couple of years which is what he keeps threatening to do, then I am stuck here for a couple of years until the fight is finished. I don't have much choice because I can't afford to pay to live somewhere else and still pay for this home at the same time.

I was appologizing that the music bothered them, so really I was saying I'm sorry they have a problem. But, it's very refreshing to see someone have my back on this..

Use your cell phone on record. Keep it in your pocket when out and about. That way you could solve your problem.

One problem might be if recording him could be recording him without letting him know, it comes down to your violating his privacy which doesn’t make sense does it. Even though he is verbally abusing you.

Yes, I know, I just responded to another person with a similar comment. California law does not allow you to record someone without their knowledge. But I can audio record a person, and then document on paper what the recording said.

lots of good information here. I am a 25 year old with cerebral palsy and a few other complications. I live on a fixed income still live with my parents. I dont know what or how im going to lived on my own but I have seriously considered mobile homes. wether in a park or on some land, on my own land would be ideal but chances of that happening are pretty slim. thank you for sharing this experience. im sorry your dealing with that. its unfortunate that some People take advantage of the elderly and disabled. I live in the state of Kentucky by the way so I'll be looking at our local laws on this here. my grandma did live in a 55+ mobile home community in southern California for 22 years so I am somewhat familiar with them I have just never lived in a mobile home personally thanks for the information

You’re very welcome, I’m glad that my video was helpful. My mother lives in a senior park that is resident owned, and I know several other people that live in those types of parks, and it seems a little better than a park like mine that is owned by a corporation. I also know other people that live in other parks that don’t have as much difficulty as we do in our park. If I knew then what I know now I would have done more research about the owner of the park before I moved in. I wish you the best in figuring out your path.

The bad part of course is cerebral palsy doesn't get better The good part is SSA wont be reviewing your condition. So you might consider Mexico. Under SSDI you can live outside the US 6 months per year. And playing it right you could keep a post box i and phone in the US. In Mexico you can rent a 3 bed/2 bath house for $300 a month Meet someone and get on with your life. There are aso private rooms called Pensions renting for Just over $100 a month.

Hi Nathan. Please check into a living facility for people with physical challenges in Phoenix Arizona to assist those that would like to live independently. Everybody owns their own place that lives there. Good luck sweetheart.

@@pawsomfunandfrugalmake sure your not in a two party consent state before you make a recording. Some places have laws against recording someone without their knowledge. That's called two party consent because both party's to the conversation have to be aware of the recording. If your in a single party consent state then you can record a conversation without the knowledge of the other party. I had a landlord who was quite abusive years ago. Cussing tenants out, threatening violence etc. I made a recording of him cussing me out, making threats etc and that helped me a lot. I'm in Ontario Canada which is a single party consent jurisdiction. Good luck to you. I hope things work out for you. Nasty landlords are awful.

Even if u can’t afford cameras…put up the notices that ur area is being recorded 24/7 and put up fake cameras if u have to…it’s amazing how well people behave when they think u have cameras on them recording their behavior.

even if you have the right to sell, I read that people are not buying mobile home park homes because the lot rent has gone extremely high. no one can pay the lot rent and buy the home.

If the park is still in rent controlled, they rent cannot be high. I pay less than $600 a month right now, and I think the biggest unit in our park only pays around $700, may be a little more. It depends on the park.

600 or 700 a month rent can be the mortgage payment on a standalone home in many areas. I guess because I've always bought a regular house that seems high

You have to consider the area the home sits in. Look up home prices in Santa Cruz. You’ll understand. And you have to have a higher income ratio for a home mortgage. I bought my mobile home cash with a loan from family.

Contact ur state attorney generals office equal opportunity commission housing division….they handle landlord tenant issues and do it for free ….since u have lot rent u fall under their jurisdiction

I'm 67, divorced 8 years ago. I owned a house before marriage so I kept my house. I gave my ex money for a deposit on a condo she wanted. Later I learned she bought a mobile home and heard she is now stuck paying higher lot rent here in Phoenix. I tried to teach her about money management and the value of owning a house but of course that was a waste of time. The trouble with giving advice "that is only helpful" is a person is rarely going to think it is helpful. If they could understand it was helpful they wouldn't need the advice in the first place. So the only advice they think is "helpful" is stuff they like to hear and validates their poor choices. Classic Catch-22. Oh well. Next year planning to sell my house and move to SE Asia.

Well I'm sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience with your ex wife. I'm sure she was doing the best she could with what she had. And, it sounds like you may be carrying a bit of resentment about that, which might be what is influencing how you are responding to my video. Does this feel helpful to you? Or does it fall under your idea of "Catch-22"?

Not to nose or poke the bear but I would highly suggest you go dark on social media with this issue and the owner take your battle underground till you have s resolution one way or another because you are just adding fuel to his fire with this.,.. and perhaps putting your self in a position of liability with him!! Seems it would relieve alot if anks and protect yourself!! er

I'm wondering if you are trying to support me or the park owner? I am not saying anything is fact here, If you pay attention to my words in the video. I can legally state how 'I feel' about the situation. These issues are already out there and the great thing about the 1st ammendment is 'free speech'. Thanks for your concern, though, as I have already gone with the other possible options. Please watch this video and check out the other video and comments. all the way so you know what was said and already done.

@@pawsomfunandfrugal What if he gets two or more other residents to complain about you? That could lead to termination of your tenancy agreement so I'd be careful not to rub him up the wrong way myself.

What area of California is the mobile home in? There is a really nice mobile home park in Oceanside. I've seen tandem parking in mobile home parks , but not side by side.

I was offered $70,000 by two different dealers, but each of them backed out when they had to deal with the owner of the park.

I was willing to negotiate even with the park owner. I did try to offer the owner $55,000 and it was negotiable. But they claim they're not interested. I'm not sure what a GoFundMe would do

Oh thank you that is so sweet. A friend of mine just explained to me that a go fund me might help with a better attorney. But I don’t know how to do one of those and most people I know are struggling also so I’m not sure how much help I would get.

But my 29 year old daughter made one for her husband because he has terminal brain cancer and she is pregnant with their first baby due in July. She is disabled and can’t drive. So I don’t think it’s too hard to do. Maybe you can find someone who can walk you through it. I’m sure any little bit would help.

@palace927 I get your point, there were some smaller cars that at the timer is considered compact. I’m referring to the compact cars they have now. You know, like a Fiat, or a volt. I was pointing out that the only kind of cars that would fit two in my space would be extremely compact tiny cars.

@@pawsomfunandfrugalthere’s this movement where people have come up with a way to remove swuattters by renting the dwelling to even more annoying and impossible tenants who then run off the squatters…perhaps finding someone that will go have a nice little talk with the landlord….hes trying to get the mobile home for free….even if u use it for storage! Don’t let him have it for free…but definitely put up cameras or even fake cameras….

In California it is illegal to record someone without their knowledge, so I might as well just have my phone out when I tell them they’re being recorded.
