Given they were married you can understand them buying a home together. But Kate had no children. So clearly Adrian was going to leave the farm to his daughter. I'm not sure if it's true in the UK, but not in the US if you are in the middle of a divorce. Joint marital assets must be agreed upon when divided, no one person can take them, spend them or hide them, and I believe at that time they were already moving forward with divorce proceedings.

Well, I guess it might apply in war or for police in certain circumstances, but lawfully killed is ridiculous otherwise. There was a young man here in the UK who was executed by police on a London bus the day after a terrorist attack. He turned out to be totally innocent.

The guy is a narcissist - he is only interested in sex, money, power and control. That's it. No empathy. He got her back to have sex and play his power games. He displays clear narcissistic rage. 95% of killers are known to the victim. Most will be laying next to them in the bed either now or before. Divorce fuels the rage, the money resentment and this power dynamic. So many murders are down to divorce resentment.

The sound went on the last few minutes - I don't know if anyone else had the same thing. So annoying. I'm glad this man got his comeuppamce, although he really deserves the death penalty: being back hanging for murderers!. Kate was a bit of a fool, I think, deliberately yanking his chain, but he was plain evil. He murdered her because he wanted his cosy life, built on her money - it was said that he never gave her any money, but he was obviously making money in various ways - farm, pigs, pipe-laying with his own heavy machinery. Also, he'd already started up a relationship with another woman, and had his daughter. He just wanted poor Kate out of his life. I couldn't hear what his daughter said, but it sounds as though she thinks he was innocent. Definitely not! Kudos to the Police for all their efforts in searching and in getting the case through the Courts and to a guilty judgement.

How could she not realise he was only after her money & go back to him? Her diaries reveal she knew nothing was " Normal" between them & she suspected him of having an affair... He had only ever been interested in the farm & the business & he hadn't been afraid to be violent with her in the past... It wasn't a "tradegy" it was a murder waiting to happen It seems as though everyone was aware of exactly what was going on in this toxic marriage...a loving husband would have reported her missing straight away but family & friend's didn't report her missing & tell the police of their fear's for her. I think it was entirely preventable, if she herself had stopped hanging on to a broken marriage & thrown him out weeks/month's before Even her brother & his wife took him in after the police started searching his house looking for evidence of him have murdered her.. it's all very, very strange, twisted & phone predictable

You have to recognise red flags in a partner's treatment of you, and act on them right away - not ignore them and hope the relationship will get better. It was a hugely bad sign that Adrian took his adult daughter's side over his wife's - your partner should be your priority once your kids are grown ups. What woman wouldn't be annoyed at cooking a meal for her stepdaughter and boyfriend, then watch them rudely walk out the door? A decent husband would have been angry with them too, and defended his wife. Violence is always a clear and unambiguous signal to get out now! Stay with a man who shows you any kind of physical violence, and you might not live to tell the tale. Tragically, that's exactly what happened to poor Kate.
