It's kind of interesting that the monster chooses to make some people happy in their last moments while terrorizing others. That, or the first guy was into choking.

Watching Part 1 then Part 2 afterward, you QUICKLY notice that they heavily took notes from Manly's recommendations. Also, I believe the story about the dog is the same story about the black dog from the previous part. The dog is assimilated into the monster, which leads to the dog attacking the man in Part 1. I do think Tabbit's story is canon, but not literal. Obviously, in a world with normal humans and seemingly normal physics, anthro animals aren't a thing... I'd say that most likely there was a man who lived with the woman he loved, and she loved him as well. Everyone misunderstood her reasoning for loving him, thinking that it was something like his wealth, or an item on his person--maybe a certain jewel necklace of pure obsidian that'd later turn into the "key?" Just a shot-in-the-dark hypothesis. In fact, what follow's is my complete headcanon of how this played out, and how the rage of one woman over the death of her love led to the end of the world. I digress. So, everyone tries to talk him into leaving her, and he overhears their discussion with her (as we witness), causing him to leave (let's say the "key" to prevent us from being confused) the key for her to find. She panics, as we see Tabbit do, and once she finds him dead by a campfire (hung in the forest, as that's a common scene we see the tentacle monster using to kill her victims), her malice causes her to seek revenge. She seeks out those "friends" and gets rid of them in the most heinous, brutal ways. Cooking the chef, for instance. Of course, it's not just a small group of friends she kills, but a large group, many people, many deaths just to cover her tracks and sate her rage. Of course, she'd also kill families to prevent them from suffering alone, anything to prevent them from experiencing loss atop the pain of death. She also sought out love, but it was never the same, and never filled the hole in her heart. Eventually, by the same tree that her love gave his life, she was cast into the fire, unable to hide her tracks completely. Her pain and malice continued on as she cursed them to the grave and burned to ash with the jewel. Fast forward to Part 1, and her intense hatred, and the curse this "witch" placed on the world causes her body to return to this plane of existence after so many, MANY years... At this point, she's all-but mindless, simply acting upon two instincts, wrathful rage toward those that remind her of the "friends" of her youth, and the pain of loss caused by her love's death... This is why some of the killings are so brutal--she's massacring people that remind her of those she hated, and why some of the killings are literal dating sims and blissful. She's seeing people with lost love, broken hearts, or who're happily in love and care for one-another, and seeks to make them all happy. This is also part of why she absorbs them all into her. She gets to watch the people she hates suffer for eternity, and pools all the loved ones and broken-hearted ones for her to make happy in hopes that it'll finally fill the hole in her heart... Eventually, her original consciousness returned to this mass of tentacles, which is why in Part 2, she seems to have a sick, twisted sense of humor at points, and makes carefully planned out decisions at other points. She's not as reliant on the sheer chance of the guy in Part 1 remembering his prayer, surviving the crash thanks to literal divine intervention, only to lose his little sister and flee the small, remote town as a result. Instead, she's able to take a guy's camera, absorb him, and make a pose like the cliche anime girl giving the peace sign to the camera. She's learning from those who've been assimilated into her, which is part of how she makes the plan of creating a "movie" to draw more victims in, taking over a whole cast and crew of a famous actors, eventually leading her to take the right person into her, giving her the idea of using the concert to swallow a LARGE mass of people, giving her that much more power, but not quenching her thirst for vengeance AND love... Being a witch, and a mass of conscious intellect, she sacrifices a small piece of herself in order to burn it and allow people in power to think fire's the only way to kill the monster, when in reality it doesn't work. Now that she's this powerful, some small fires aren't enough to do away with her, but they CAN be used in witchcraft to amplify her on a huge scale. So, what can stop something this strong? Manlybadasshero. A man who perhaps reminds her of the love she'd lost, and someone she refuses to assimilate into her due to the risk of losing him among the masses she's accumulated. Our justice weeabo gives her exactly what she's wanted all this time. And there we go, that's my headcanon.

The Manly x Monster ending is pretty funny now that we know that the monster is canonically a furry rabbit girl

The monster has a lot of personality, I appreciate its creativity in just how cruel it wants to be and how it tortures its victims. Bundled with the first game, this is a strong experience. And hey, I'm always happy to see Manly mentioned in game.

Okay that *Marrying A Tentacle Waifu* bit was verrrrrry unexpected.

Seems to me that Tabbit and Bucket's story could correlate to a terminally ill man (re: 'Bucket knowing he won't last until winter') dating a woman who people think is only with him for his wealth/some sort of item. Since he'll die soon, she (to others) looks to be in a prime place to inherit something valuable. Once the man realizes the supposed truth, he (as another commenter said) committed suicide, leaving her the nose/wealth he thought she wanted.

I feel like the snow man thing may have been a symbolic origin story since Taco and Fernando were mentioned as guys who were after Camela... though that in itself seems wrong since Camela's writer got yoinked by the monster... but Tabbit even said things like the monster.

To bring you up to speed on the possible origins from the first game, there were random channels sporadically placed that'd show the progression of the monster being created. While changing channels It starts as a small crater in the ground followed by a strange shaped skull poking out. At the final channel something long and black similar to the monster grows out of the eye socket. So that skull was probably Tabbit's poking out, and the tar creature with the eye was some sort of fusion of her soul with whatever Bucket's was when she ate his carrot.

3 kids get inside a spooky house in the middle of nowhere. A tentacle monster happens to be there and the kids become their hostages. One of them goes out to form a team tonfree his friens. This has to be a Maniac Mansion/Day of the tentacle reference, isn't it?

I loved this part of the game! And I like to think the rabbit and snowman story was literal. Like something that happened in another world, and the creature that Tabbit became is an "interdimensional" hunter who just happened to come to Earth after a while.

So here's my take on it, based only on the sequel, with no knowledge of the original: Tabbit transformed into the monster, fueled by love and hate. If it's literal, then it's very unsettling that a human woman hooked up with a bear and fox (Note Camila at 29:42 mentioning her relationships with Taco and Fernando, who we also see in the Snowman story). If it's a metaphor, then a young woman wanted to eat her husband.... unless eating is a metaphor for sex, in which case that's uh... really disturbing that she forced people to "eat" each other. So let's just go with the eating being literal. For the sake of our sanity, perhaps assuming the animals are metaphors also would be best. Anyway, moving on. The individual kills (the street worker, the priest, the dad, the couples, etc) were first, picked off little by little. The surviving children banded together to find their parents, and eventually spotted the monster in the old house outside of town. They went in to look for their parents, and got trapped. Lucas (orange shirt) was allowed to leave to find more victims, at which point the bullied kid found him crying. Bullied kid learns about the monster and sends his bully to the house to die. I don't see him in any other clip so I guess his story ends there. Lucas rushes to find help to lead them to the monster, and brings back two lone soldiers who are immediately killed. Lucas is possessed. This is about when the su*cide cult meets the monster, at which point people finally realize how bad things are. Somewhere between the bully dying and here is when the movie theater incident happens. The girl stabbing the tentacle likely happens around this time, too. Finally, the military tracks down the monster, and they ignite fires to dispose of the evidence, unintentionally setting them in a star-shaped order around the the city. This WOULD give the monster more power, but the attack forces it to hide in Lucas's body, likely due to injury. In order to regain its strength, it takes Lucas to Laurelalusa, the center of the star made from fire and sacrifices.... And at last, it's able to feast, likely on just a couple people at first, then the whole concert, then the whole city. The End. The question now is... What will Tabbit The Monster do next? Will she move on to neighboring cities? Is she at peace now?

I thought the rabbit and snowman minigame was just there to make sure you got all the alternatives endings before giving you the key, but i was pleasantly surprised that it had a story of its own! And i strongly believe this is the origin of the monster, tabbit explicitly states that her hunger will never be satisfied, and the monster is constantly eating humans, it calls them food, and never seems to be full no matter how many people it eats, also they both say the exact same phase in game "it depends on my mood" As others have pointed out the story of tabbit and the snowman was probably not literally about a rabbit and a snowman, but of a woman that fell in love with a terminally ill man and everyone thought that she was just with him for his wealth, he hears the rumors and believes them, so he commits siwiside, but the woman really did love him, so in her grief and rage she kills everyone that spread said rumor, in the end her anger transformes her into the monster we see in the game, always hungry with an impossible to sate hunger Also, as some other people said, the monster attacks 2 towns in the game, and both of them are named after food stuffs, condiments to be exact, canela (cinnamon) and laurel (bay leaf), both are Spanish words, but given the names of the characters i assume nightmare zapping takes place in a Spanish speaking country

interestingly, The rabbit and the snowman bucket story has so relation to the monster. Mainly the rabbit saying a specific line. "depends on my mood" which is the same line as the tentacle monster says.

having a priest character be stuck in a loop like Kars from Jojo, only for the next name you see is diego....... that's gotta be a reference. no way it's an accident

I really liked the ending of this game, it felt like it did a good job in tying things together that had come up previously. Was it just me, or did it feel like the game could've done more with its themes earlier? Even with the context of Tabbit and the goal of the consuming everyone using the concert, the earlier stories just feel kind of arbitrary. Lots of random kills without any insight into why the monster targets who it does or who it decides to make suffer versus giving them a pleasant fantasy. It seems like the game's big themes are spectacle (the fact that you're watching through a TV, the concert at the end) and heartbreak, so I figured those would figure more obviously into it? Like if a lot of the kills were ""light-hearted"" (like the photographer) or involved pleasant fantasies, but then the unfaithful husband brought out the monster's anger in particular, for not appreciating the love he had in his life. I feel like there was also room for explicitly tying together the fact that Bucket was driven off because of rumors and gossip, and the monster's plan involving intentionally creating rumors and gossip to create panic and trick the town into carrying out the ritual that the monster used at the end. I feel like there's almost something really cohesive there, tying together spectacle, media and what it means to devote yourself to someone/something (like Bucket being willing to surrender his nose, or the priest refusing to surrender his faith to God)... maybe it's just me, but I feel like there was room for improvement in terms of tying together the game's themes.

No. NO! Is this really happening!? I loved watching the first game, and I had no idea there was a second one even in development. It's a holiday-time miracle! I'm going to get some tea and get comfy... EDIT: The tentacle monster is pretty sassy this time. I'm kinda digging his quips and backtalk.

It would have been a fun twist if the priest was not afraid. When the monster attacked him he would just unmask and be an even bigger monster that kills the first one "surprize mofo"...

(Maybe more, I paused to post this) Then again, I guess JJBA is pretty disproportionately popular in Latin America from what I hear, and between the name, character names, grammar issues, and such, I have to assume the creator of the game is either from there or actual Spain or somewhere like that.

It was a pretty interesting one ! I do like how the monster is not just a mindless creature, but actually have some humor....Dark humor, but still humor ahem

Merry Christmas! Funny how in that one scene it did let on that all of the events of the game that night was before christmas. I like the little Manly in the shelf at that one scene where the kid was thinking about sending his bully to the old house. Soon ill have my own little Manly in my room too! At least Manly and pochita got a good ending. With the whole thing about bringing food to the monster, it got the song "Brains" by Voltaire stuck in my head. Cause that one episode of the Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy was pretty much that. I like this game. It has a neat flow to it. Very grim. Maybe the tentacle monster is draining everyone as we watch.

One thing I noticed is there's alot of heavy themes of humanities vices, or negative quality. A fair amount of the stories show off some of the worst parts, the bullies and the boy, the wedding, the cheating, it ties up with the potential backstory of the monster itself. But what I find interesting is they don't always they can turn out good, they stories can have good endings, some always bad, but some good. I do find it interesting
