Technically if he somehow kept his tongue, he would still be able eat soft foods (considering he lost all his bones from being scooped which includes teeth since teeth are bones) and possibly taste them if a few of his tastebuds survived. He would be able to taste and consume them, but they would most likely stay in his stomach because he can’t digest it properly. Idk why the hell I stared a rant, I just woke up not long ago.
