When this was recorded Floor had been the replacement singer of Nightwish för just about 10 months. She did her first show in Seattle Wa on Oct 1st 2012 after the band fired Anette, their second singer. This was recorded Aug.3rd 2013. This song wasn't on the set list for the tour originally since Anette didn't have the vocal ability to perform it. But Floor had heard the song when her first band After Forever" toured with Nightwish when Tarja, their first singer, was still in the band, and she loved it. So Floor asked Tuomas (the guy behind the keyboards) if they could make it a part of the set list. And they did, it was song number 13 of a 15 song set. There's som minor variations in the backing between Floors and Tarjas version, mainly that the choir have been reduced in volume. There's a video on youtube from, I think, Argentina, recorded Dec15th 2012. And there's one of Tarja doing it too. Floor was friends (and fan) of the band's way before this song was released tho. They toured with After Forever together in 2002, Once was released 2004 and Tarja played it with the band through the whole tour until she left. They also did play it with Anette but that didn't last very long.

If you wanna check out Within Temptation, you should rather try songs from their Black Symphony live album such as: The Promise, Mother Earth, or The Truth Beneath The Rose. That concert was recorded with a full classic orchestra and choir. Symphonic metal at its best.

small correction: 1) Poet and Pendulum, Nightwish (live at Wembley 2015) 3 Greatest Show on Earth, Nightwish (live at Tampere or Wembley 2015) Floor Jansen is one of the best live singers out there currently. I mean singing for 1,5 hours, not just one song.

I'll leave it to the NW army to pitch the band's music which is certainly very entertaining. I show up for these videos for Floor. This is just the tip of the iceberg. She owns ever performance I've ever seen her give. Sings in different styles, in different languages, and to all manner of audiences, and makes every single one look like it's what she was born to do. Hands down, one of the very best. At least a once in a generation kind of voice.

Those aren't organ pipes, they're just a keyboardstand. Its a tribute to a Sibelius monument in Helsinki Finland. And they're good for hiding wine bottles too.

Your face tells it all. Yes, they change your life. And yes, it is very emotional. And the wonder is: they don't do bad songs. In the contrary, their whole concert blows down walls. This was near the end of a long concert! The energy! The musicianship! The compositions! Floor as the angelic Goddess of Metal! Watch more of them. And when you in the unlikely event run out of songs of them, you could also check out the Rabbit Hole of Ayreon. The brain child of Arjen Lucassen. They too will blow your mind. And there we have it: Tuomas from Nightwish and Arjen Lucassen from Ayreon, the two most amazing composers of modern symfonic metal and progressive rock of these decades.

Does Nightwish get a big audience in LA since Symphonic Metal is not promoted on radio and tv in the US ? Floor wasnt even famous in her own country The Netherlands until she sang Phantom of The Opera on tv show Beste Zangers, after which she was also invited on to the German version of this show called Meinem Song. These shows are not a competion, they are all famous singers and one singer per show is in the center of attention. The other famous singers would then sing songs of that singer or cover songs he or she likes. It is refreshing a singing show that is not about winning, but about appreciating other artists on the show. Floor is my age and from the Nethelands like I am. Unfortunateley i never met her, she lives in another country now. She has been famous to certain groups all over the world, but in her own country she became famous since the tv show Beste Zangers. Only after that Nightwish became big here too and Floor also does her own solo show in the Netherlands singing Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort and other songs that are not Symphonic Metal. Floor was invited by the cousin of the King of the Netherlands to sing the national anthem of the Netherlands coming weekend at the biggest car race track for Formula One racing. They told her she would not get paid for her performance, that is quite the opposite of singers at the Super Bowl. Floor pays her own flight to the Netherlands to sing at the biggest race track Zandvoort coming weekend. She said she would sing without getting paid for the honour of singing the national anthem. She will have a bigger audience then at Wacken festival which had 83.000 people. At Zandvoort race track coming weekend 100.000 people per day she will have as an audience. It will probably be up on KZfaq Floor singing the national anthem at the Formula 1 racing. Her leather outfits will FIT right in on the race track lol

@@2012inca - Nothing like the audiences they get in South America and parts of Europe... they were slated to play at a 4000 seat theater, but it all had to get rescheduled due to Covid... they ended up playing 2 nights at a theater with capacity just under 2000, I believe but it was pretty packed.

@@jduncanandroidThanks, I only know of the popularity of Nightwish in Europe and the country where Nighwish is from where metal is considered to be mainstream on radio That is the complete opposite of many other countries where pop and rock is mainstream on radio. If they were played more on radio in different countries they could have a much bigger followng and play big music festivals in the US. Nightwish played at one of the biggest music festivals in the Netherlands only after Floor became famous by being on a Dutch tv program 2 years ago, while she was already known by many people in other countries for decades. It seems that is what Floor has to do, as mainstream radio didnt even make her famous in her own country The Netherlands. Someonone needs to organize a singing tv show for Floor in the US , then Nightwish could play music festival Coachella.lol. I know that music festival isnt for metal, but we have the Pinkpop festival which is much like Coachella and Nightwish was asked to play there.

It seems so obvious it shouldn't need to be mentioned, but here's my vote for Nightwish as the next Superbowl half-time show. They could do GLS and The Greatest Show on Earth and then Floor just drops the mic and the band strides off the stage. I can see Floor, with black wings attached a la Victoria's Secret, zip-lining down to the stage from an upper deck, in multiple spotlights from all angles, to kick off the show. Put cameras on the fans in the stands and then quick flash those images on the stadium big screen while Floor sings "We Were Here". If it's an outdoor stadium, keep the fireworks as one of the musical instruments. In my dream, the show remains a total secret until it begins, with nobody knowing who will be performing at half-time. Marco might have some regrets.
