Been working in their shows maybe 20 years..Not a crew member but stage crew etc. Been always a pleasure, they are just something else than just a band. And everything Tuomas writes and composes is like my view of how life is and goes. Lovin it 🔥❤️ Thank you and Greets from Finland 🇫🇮🤘

Yes, there is a lot more than you see on the stage. There is a full London Philharmonic Orchestra, choirs, and the additional composed and pre-recorded sounds in the backing track they are triggering and playing with. There are somewhere around 600 tracks recorded for the production of this song. Mixed down to about 250 for the stage systems backing tracks. The outro music part of the song and ending the concert were also composed by Tuomas and played by the orchestra and choirs.

What Emppu was doing on the guitar during the intro was using an " E-bow " ( An EBow is a small, handheld device that is known as a handheld synthesizer. It works by emitting a magnetic pulse which interacts with your guitar string and pickups to create soaring, sustaining notes and synth like tones. )

A FEW REMARKLE WORDS IN THE SONG. ***** THE TAPESTRY OF CHEMISTRY: The periodic table of the chemical elements. GAEA: As originally conceived the 'Gaia' concept envisages the Earth as a super-organism that operates to regulate its own environment, principally temperature, to keep it habitable for the biosphere OPUS PERFECTUM the perfect work, the perfect creation AEON: Used in reference to a period of a thousand million years (especially in geology, cosmology and astronomy), its more common usage is for any long, indefinite period THE GARDEN: The earth. THE GOLDILOCKS ZONES: refers to the habitable zone around a star. It's the zone that has just the right temperatures for ( intelligent) life to develop. LUCA: It's the acronym for the Last Universal Common Ancestor, a key concept in the study of early evolution and life's origin that has been tracked by scientists for years. Emmpu plays ENTER SANDMAN: Song of the group Metallica LUCY OF THE AFAR Collection of several hundred pieces of fossilized bone representing 40 percent of a female of the hominin species Australopithecus AFARENSIS In Ethiopia, Why was Lucy so important? In 1974, Lucy showed that human ancestors were up and walking around long before the earliest stone tools were made or brains got bigger, and subsequent fossil finds of much earlier bipedal hominids have confirmed that conclusion. Bipedalism, it seems, was the first step towards becoming human. DEVONION SEA: The Devonian is a geologic period and system of the Paleozoic, spanning 60.3 million years ..., called after the place Devon in the UK where rockes of that period were first studied. ENTER RATKIND Popular hypothesis that states that in the case of human extition, rats will be the best suited to take over and evolve into an inteligant species ********

I loved this video the first time I saw it, and was in total awe of the band, Floor, and the story that it told. This was how I first heard Nightwish, thanks to a KZfaq suggestion, after I listened to some epic sounding instrumental music one day. Can you imagine if this was the first time you ever listened to Nightwish? I had to scrape my jaw off the ground and find out everything I could about them. I have since seen them live virtually in 2021 and at a live show in 2022. btw, There are documentaries about the creation of the album and show.

Awesome reaction! You obviously paid attention in your biology class because you are one of the few reactors that totally got what the song was about from the get go. Even Emmpu’s little homage to Metallica didn’t get by you. This song confirms Tuomas as one of the most important songwriters of our time.

There are so many “hidden gems” that Tuomas included in the lyrics & the music. 18:50 The musical tributes start with some African tribal drumming, then through the Gregorian chant in Dies Irae (Mozart), Bach’s Minuet in G Major followed by his famous Fugue in D Minor, followed by American banjo music, Metallica’s Enter Sandman riff (!!!), finally ending in Rap/Hip-Hop and 90s dance music. Pretty Good isn’t it?!!

You could do the same, after reacting to "The Reunion" where you get some insight in how Floor was experiencing that show (English subtitles available). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLihpNCSmdG7eZs.htmlsi=sbeUSlerhd5jixPd

The ttile of the song is from Richard Dawkin's book "The Greatest Show on Earth." Dawkins, at the end, quotes the last couple of sentences from "The Origin of Species" by Darwin. Very poetic. Tuomas has summarized 4.5 billion years of earth's history in a poem embedded in a musical work of art.

The Metallica riff is much more than just a nod to the metal titans - it is the band at there creative best. If you listen to the lyrics before and after the riff - Man, he took his time in the sun. Had a dream to understand a single grain of sand. Or, in other words, Enter Sandman.

Nothing in this world is permanent. Technology erased by advanced technology, everything we create will be erased by new things created or improved on. We are so technologically advanced, yet everything we use and enjoy now probably won’t exist in 25 years due to advanced technology. Cars we have now will have gone the same as they did in the 40’s, 50’s and so on. As life keeps moving forward, history slowly gets erased with every passing generation. 😢

The Tempere performance is so much better. The only reason this Wembly recording gets recommanded is because Richard Dawkins shows up on stage for 1 minute at the end. I respect Dawkins and it was cool to see him on stage for that minute, but you loose out on so much epicness. Just watch Tempere, and then add on that Dawkins minute afterwards

I disagree. In my view this is a way better performance and much better recording. I don't really get the fascination with the Tampere version (great though it is) - I guess some people love the fireworks, whereas I'm happy to let the music do the work. However, each to his own and all that.
