Last night, i was at a Nightwish concert for the first time. Still buzzing! If you ever get the chance, don’t miss it! The energy, the interaction and the friendship between the band. Awesome! A massive treat; They played Phantom of the opera, with Henk Poort!!

We were there at the epic Nightwish Ziggo Dome concert in Amsterdam last night. Musical magic & magnificence, full of surprises. How about Jukka doing a little dance at the start of "I Want My Tears Back"? Or how they sneaked in one of my all time favourites, "7 Days". When they played the first bars of that one, we went absolutely 🍌🍌What a brave & bold move to bring it back on the setlist w/ Marko. Screamed the Marko parts so loud that my voice is completely gone now (screaming "Henkie! Henkie! on top of my lungs also contributed hehe). At the start of the show, Floor announced that they'd film it all. We already had our hopes up high, but as soon as she said that, we knew that she'd brought Henk Poort for the ride (as was promised in 2019 at the "Beste Zangers" TV show). And what a ride it was. The whole concert was absolutely fantastic and their Phantom with Henk was the grand cherry on the cake. Unforgettable show, still can't believe we were there! That "DVD" is gonna kick @ss! Great reaction. That's not an electric bagpipe. The instrument you hear is called; the Uilleann pipes (pronounced "ielen paips") is the Irish name for the Irish bagpipe which, unlike the Scottish bagpipe, is not blown with the mouth, but is held on the lap while the air is pumped with the elbow by means of a bellows. To prevent the elbow from sliding off the bellows in the process, it is attached to it with an accompanying strap.

That is multi instrumentalist Troy, Donockley, playing the Uilleann (ill-en or ill-yen) pipes. The Irish version of the bagpipes that uses a bellows squeezed by the elbow to inflate the bag. Uilleann is the Gaelic word for 'elbow'. The song is a longing to feel emotion the way one did when they were young. Yep, she's dancing all over despite not being 100%. She had been sick with the flu a show or 2 before this. Troy is also singing a 3rd harmony here. On the current tour , he has taken over most of Marko's vocal parts in this song, and no 3rd harmony. Marko left the band in 2021. Jukka Koskinen, from Wintersun, is the new bassist.

It is indeed one of the rarer direct crowd engagements, because you probably noticed that the show is fully choreographed, which gives Floor her Dark Galadriel role. The only "Banter" part in their current set is when Troy introduces Nemo (and he usually says something different every show) and when Floor introduces the acoustic "How's the Heart". There was a very special crowd engagement in their first show after Floors surgery in Antwerp, when at the end of their very emotional song "Sleeping sun" Floor burst out in tears. Hello friend, I don't know if you know, but last month Floor was diagnosed with breast cancer, but she had surgery and she's fine. On the 20th of November she returned to the shows and at the end of the song Sleeping Sun she couldn't contain herself and cried and I cried with her, she's still emotionally fragile but soon our Queen will be 100%, a hug from Brazil.

It always amazes me how brave the Valkyrie Goddess is, dancing in her ceremonial battledress on high heels in front of thousands of members of the Nightwish Army 😇😇😇😇😇😇 Side note; miss Marko with his mighty voice and awesome beard .

I'm so glad you checked out this one! It's just so much fun! Another great one, where Marko sings lead is the Islander, live at Tampere. It's a pretty big feat when you have Floor singing backup for you.

I saw them yesterday live in Amsterdam and it was an awesome show and it was good to see Floor in optima forma after her surgery.🤘🏽

Years back, a fan wrote that after the Wembley concert (2015), if Floor had asked the crowd to march on Parliament House, they would have done it :). She completely controls the crowd. I cannot understand dancing like mad, already part way through a concert, and then interrupting the dancing to sing as if no physical effort had been expended at all. Amazing.

The crowd chant at the beginning is a standard football chant, with the name of (choose your favorite) the football team replaced by "Nightwish". "Nightwish, we love you," and so on.

not really an "electric bagpipe" per-say. Troy plays Uilleann pipes in the band, they're an irish style of bagpipe where instead of filling the bag with your breath, they're connected to a bellows that is strapped around the waist. this allows you to refill and maintain air pressure while leaving your mouth free to sing (or as Troy will point out, drink).

Argentinian crowds are the best in the world. When they give like they do, it's hard for any performer not to give back.

That was the sixth band member, Troy Donockley on Uilleann (elbow) pipes. Pumped bellows under right arm and bag squeezed under left arm. Any visible wire is probably a mike. You will see Troy, from England, play various instruments from whistles, pipes, bouzouki, acoustic and electric guitars often with an E-bow.

electric bagpipe? haha that is an Irish bagpipe sir. Nothing electric. Troy is the player and he plays all kinds pof ancient instruments, pipes, flutes, snare instruments . Trroy is a steady member for 8 years now in Nightwish and only comes on stage in the songs he's active in. He was also in wacken (the amost 100.000 crowd, ghost love score) The classical music, tuomas magicallly gets out of his keyboards (he uses 3 keyboards, always) is the LOndon symphonic orchestra. He wrote the music for the whole orchestra and choirs. Tuomas (TUmas) is a musical genius, the Mozart of this time. And you haven't see any of their music pieces (not songs) yet.

If you like croud interactions, you should definitely check out The bard's song/valhalla at Wacken 2016 from Blind Guardian. It's a German metal Band and I am 100% sure you will like the performance
