The drummer is Kai. He replaced Jukka a while ago after his insomnia became too much to cope with. Jukka is still with the band behind the scenes and the guys are very good friends. Kai apparently taught Jukka how to play jazz for the Imaginaerium album.

Kai play drums in Wintersun also. That band is art too!

Kai is the 2nd drummer, temporarily and only for a album and finishing a tour in 2014 when Jukka had to pause due to insomnia. But he did stay and he became the official drummer in july last year. Jukka still works for nightwish, managing the daily things. Kai already worked for nightwish before 2014, as drum recording technician.

Nice to see you're back with Hightwish, especially as their new album "HUMAN :II: NATURE" will be released on 10th April 2020. It will be a double album containing 9 tracks on the main CD 1 and one long track, divided into eight chapters on CD 2. To make waiting more fun, there's many more live performances at Buenos Aires 2018 for you to react to. I'm sure that others will suggest many of them to you in the other comments.

I am SO looking forward to the CD 2 song. I was lowkey expecting a new 'longest Nightwish song ever' again, and i get the feeling i won't be disappointed.

Metal music has several parts to it. It is the closest thing to classical music we have today. This was a real old school Nightwish for you... This was the sound that made the band...

I always love how exited the young mother gets at the start. Clearly she is a long time fan. This is an old song from the days of Tarja and Floor almost does a Tarja impersonation. Sounds great too.

Robert Payne I really can relate with her hahaha, I’ve been Nightwish fan for about 13 years and Oceanborn was my favorite album until Endless Forms Most Beautiful came hahaha

Welcome back to Nigtwish guys! 😁 very good song choice today. And this drummer us named Kai. He replaced Jukka the former drummer that had health issues. Jukka still helps Nightwish backstage :)

As far as I know, Jukka is not just “helps Nightwish backstage”, but now is the CEO of Nightwish company. And if I remember correctly, he was managing the band’s commercial affairs even when he was still a drummer.

Stargazers, from their 2nd album Oceanborn, 1998. Over 2 decades ago! Early stuff, lots of power metal influences. Always amazing style but a bit diferent than what they do today. Also, keep in mind that the 1st "album" was a demo "that was never meant to be released as a proper record. It happened almost by accident, so we decided to put everything into making Oceanborn great". (Tuomas quote). So essentially, this song is from their 1st album.

WOW you read my mind Welcome back guys i was just posting on your other reaction why you didn't do any Nightwish reactions anymore, so much more to react to again from Buenos Aires to start with Dead Boy's Poem and I Want My Tears Back from Buenos Aires so much fun. BTW Nightwish is releasing a new album April 10th Human II Nature and is gonna be amazing as far as we can read and by the sneak peek :) This Drummer is Kai Hahto he replaced Jukka (The one at Wacken) cuz of health problems, Jukka is still with the band tho

This is from their breakthrough album in Finland and My first Nightwish album back in 99. After hearing this Song I've been Floor fan. 🙂

Yea, they didn't play it in so long because Anette could not sing it. Her more poppy style doesn't really fit. Stargazers needs an operatic voice. Last time they played it live before that tour was with Tarja.

They needed to change the drummer in 2014, to this one called Kai (Like Cai in King Arthur tales, rhymes with Guy). Jukka, their older drummer (which you see in Wacken), had problems with insomnia. Now he works with Nightwish behind the scenes. I understand he's along in the tours.

If you want to try Floor’s previous bands then start with After Forever - Monolyth Of Doubt (at Kopspijkers 2002). Floor is very young there :-) and it’s their signature song of that time.

Tampere - 'TUMperret' - like in those English dialect, where you drop the last t. The point is, the e in Finnish is always said the same. It's like the e in 'get'. So Tampere sounds more Spanish than English, just stress the beginning always with the Finnish words.

I’m sure the reason this has been off the set list for so long is because Annette could never pull this song off. Watching her trying to pull this song off would be the best comedy ever.

The band are so much tighter now Floor is with them I stopped watching them at one point because of the animosity felt with all that was going on with the singers at that time now I've found them again can't get enough of them top top band I'm 73 & followed iron Maiden, Metallica, Rammstein, who my son & I are seeing in June 2020 + Uriah Heep been to lots of their concerts but as yet not Nightwish ! I hope to get to them soooon.

Floor doesent get the same operatikal voice like tarja and tarja is just better the old songs. They just wrihgtit for tarja and not for floors voice. Sorry bad english

I love Floor, I love the path that Nightwish has taken since she came aboard, but this song wasn't written for her and this performance evidences it. She sings it well, but it's too obvious that she's trying to emulate the sound of the original song. I don't know if that's deliberate or not, but it'd be much more pleasant to hear her make the song her own.

In my opinion she tries to pay respect to Tarja, trying to stay true to the original, she mentioned that it was 10 years ago since they performed it live.

It seems that Floor can't please anybody at the same time. If she does it her own way, the Tarja minions come complain that Floor sucks, and if she does it Tarja's way, then another group comes complain she should do it her way. Well, 99% of the songs she does it her way. Forgive her this one. But i like it anyway.

@@Harolddespui True! But it is not "Tarja's way". It is how the song was written and meant to be performed, because operatic styleTarja was the singer. Floor can sing in the style of the song and therefore we are lucky and we can listen to Nightwish perform one of their oldest songs live, without any compromises to the style of the song.

@@Wriwnas1 I agree.. She just sings it the way it's meant to be (Opera style), so I don't get why people "complain" about it.. Harold Andeweg seems to be right, there's just no way of pleasing everybody.. Sing it differently, people complain, sing it the same, people complain.. Just ignore them and enjoy NW able to play all of their songs live again these days..

So thats what it sounds like, when they make Floor sing like Tarja... Beautiful, but absolutely senseless. Let us listen to the original with Tarja or do a Floor-version ! Floors versatility is wasted here.

@@patrickdejong723 As i said: Beautiful ! I didnt compare. What i wanted to say is: IF i want to hear Nightwish with opera-singing from beginning to end: I can do that listening to the Tarja-version. No need to do one more with Floor. Floor could do it different (without saying whats "better", thats taste of the listener) but that would have been i would have liked to hear here.

@@matthiaskellner9331 That is just the style of the song, since it was written for a singer that could only sing like that. It is not a Tarja-version of the song. It is just how the song is. And Floor can sing in that style fantastically and does so on this song. She does not need to do a new version of it, just sing it greatly (and she does). Songs do not need to be changed because the singer is diferent, unless she/he can't sing them or the band wants to refresh/change them. And just because they do not have their 1st singer still, that does not mean that should not perform any of those older songs. If you only want to hear Tarja's voice on the older songs, your choice. I got that album in 2000 when I discovered Nightwish. If Tarja was still their singer, I would listen to her singing Stargazers on Tampere. But she is not and we are lucky that Floor can sing those songs perfectly and therefore Nightwish can still perform them live for us.
