Both singers are epic floor sings in her own style with added colors to this version. .imo☺

I mean, you can say that Floor didn't sing this the way Tarja sang it and I guess that'd be true, but I wouldn't say that she doesn't still shine. She's not as operatic as Tarja but I feel like she more makes up for it in versatility. Nothing against Tarja either, as I've been a fan since their first stateside release and I fell in love with the band with Tarja as the singer. I appreciate all three singers and what they each brought to the band.

I didn't notice any thing bad about Floor's version. Tarja's version sounded like Tarja to me. When I discovered Nightwish on KZfaq it was with Tarja. I fell in love with them then. Then I found the Floor videos and I was still in love. The only difference is that Floor is more versatile in my opinion. They both have beautiful voices. What we need to remember is Tuomas had not written such beautiful music we would never have heard them sing these songs............. :-)

Please keep in mind that Floor does not like to sing opera as much as Tarja. However every time i Floor opera i think she is very impressive.

I love Floor's version. Tarja might do the ah-ah-ah-aaaahhs with more operatic precision and her version might be a bit more haunting, but Floor? I believe she *is* the siren. As for the meaning of the song, you're on the right track. The original idea came to Tuomas from a documentary he saw about this Scottish lady who would go to the rocky beach to play her violin to the seals, but mostly the song seems to allude to the Greek mythology -- though Odysseus tied himself to the mast, not the wheel. :D

I know this video. The audio sound is pore . It don't even match with the video, because the audio is not from one of the different performances you see on tape. So how can any person say if she did a good ore a bad job with this song. I think you have to deal with a Tarja fan here.

First of all this songs are made for Tarja voice and diapason. Second Floor took just 1 year of classical singing not whole academy. And last i think she doesn't have the time to change all the songs to her adjustments. How ever she is doing a very great job, take Gethsemane for example live in Helsinki

People get used to one version, then automatically dislike a newer version. All Nightwish singers are DIFFERENT, not better or worse than the other. Floor is a VERY skilled singer.

I don't think it's bad vocally, but stylistically it's not great, most fans just associate this as Tarja's masterpiece, that will always be the go to, this is still enchanting though.

You could expand since you´ve listened to Finnish symphonic metal you better listen to some Swedish metal.... ;) !! Like Brothers Of Metal - Yggdrasil or Prophecy Of Ragnarök or if you like beer their song Mead...other great bands Arch Enemy or viking/pagan/folk metalband Månegarm. Månegarm - Hemfärd, Månegarm - Hordes Of Hel, Månegarm - Hervors Arv, Månegarm - Blot, Månegarm - Nattsjäl, Månegarm - Blodörn, Månegarm - Mother Earth Father Thunder...Månegarm is one of my personal favorite bands they have one record in English and the rest are in Swedish.....thx for your reactions and may your channel grow so that you maybe can strike even.... :) !!

Bad mix. I believe that those who suggest finding instances where Floor doesn't shine are those who for whatever reason are still holding on to a previous singer for Nightwish (can anyone say Tarja?) and wanting to find fault with Floor. I wonder if they would encourage people to try to find instances where the other two female singers for Nightwish didn't shine? Just a question to ponder..... I will say this - if Floor is put into a contest against Tarja about straight-up technical operatic singing, Floor will lose every time. Tarja is a much better operatic singer than Floor. Tarja can do one thing better than Floor. Floor can do several things better than Tarja. So who is the better singer? Let versatility and multiple abilities answer the question. By the way, I did not think this song showed that Floor didn't shine. It showed the production and post production people didn't shine, in my opinion.

As much as I love Floor(and I do love Floor), for me Tarja's version is better.

No such thing as a poor performance from Floor. Her 80% is better than most singers' 100%.
