This is Tarja (tahr-ya) Turunen, the original lead singer of Nightwish. She is one of my favorite artists ever. Her voice sings to my soul. I highly recommend "She is My Sin" From Wishes to Eternity, the heavier "Slaying the Dreamer" End of an Era, and from her solo career: "Supremacy" in Milan. The current lead singer is Floor Jansen, who is also incredible. The epic "Ghost Love Score" Wacken 2013 is the go-to for Floor. Subscribed! Looking forward to going on this journey with you!

Oh. My. Gosh. I have never heard of these guys before. I've seen phantom of the opera at the theater several times. This put a new spin on it. Intense!

Nightwish is a Finnish band that started in 1996. The band has 9 studio albums, the first 5 were recorded with Tarja, the woman you just heard. The second vocalist is Anette, who recorded 2 albums, and the current singer is Floor, who has also recorded two albums so far. The three vocalists have completely different voices and styles, but each one is good in its own way. Because of the different vocalists, if you want to know the band's catalog, it would be nice to explore the different eras. The five albums with Tarja are influenced by Gothic metal, power metal, symphonic music and folk music. Since Anette the band has been concentrating on elements of symphonic metal and folk music. Tarja left the band in 2005, at the time when KZfaq didn't exist yet. Most of the videos of live performances with Tarja were posted by fans. Some have good recording quality, but others do not. As for Anette, despite being less old than Tarja, it is more difficult to find good live recordings from her. Regardless, Anette has a better ability in the studios than live. Floor has been an official member of the group since 2013 and it's easier to find videos of her with better recording quality. A lot of them were posted by the band itself. When reacting to Nightwish, it would be nice if you heard the versions recorded with the original singers and the current versions with Floor. The same song is quite different depending on who is singing, either because of the different voices and styles, or because of the changes that the group makes to adapt the old songs to the newer singers. she is Tarja the first vocalist of NW until 2005. For me Marko and Tarja will always be the best duo ever, the contrast of their voices is magical. Tarja was the first to sing songs like ghost love Score, ever dream, slaying the dreamer, sleeping sun, wishmaster etc. I recommend all the songs on this show. this show was the last they played together. Tarja was thrown out and she formed an incredible solo career (if you want you can also investigate there) and Marko left very recently. Hopefully you keep reacting to this old NW. I saw that you recommend songs with Floor but I would like you to continue with Tarja since the beginning of NW's history because she already sang many songs that Floor sang in 2013. Tarja is a progressive rock singer who had classical training in Finland and that's how they started Nightwish, to combine the two branches of music. She's nowadays formally recognized as a Goddess in several South American countries after the band's legendary tours there. Anette and Floor are good too, no prob.

Curious fact: during this very concert ("End of an Era", it happened in 2005) where they performed their version of 'The Phantom', Tarja was very sick with a fever and severe throat infection. She didn't even know if she'd be able to sing that night, yet she did it marvellously! So if this is not the best she can do, just imagine how damn incredible she is at her best!😍 Well, don't know if anyone already told you, but there was a messy, dramatic situation regarding Tarja's dismissal from the band back in 2005, right after this concert actually (which makes this the last time ever they performed together)... I absolutely love Nightwish and it was you two guys that put me onto them! I watched the reaction you did for them doing High Hopes, I was blown away and downloaded the song immediately! I've since looked into their music and downloaded loads of their songs. I think it's Tarja who sang this song - she is very good but the current singer with Nightwish is Floor Jansen and I must confess I like her singing better, probably because I haven't actually listened much to anyone else. Tarja certainly does a great job with the Phantom song and I love watching Nightwish live on KZfaq - they put on such a great show! Songs I really love are Storytime, I Want my Tears Back, My Walden and Elan (great pipe playing by Troy Donockley on these three latter songs). Also Last of the Wilds which is an instrumental featuring Troy - I love it. It's like Celtic rock meets heavy metal!! Really good reaction guys, many thanks.

Sadly Nightwish never played that song again...because they parted ways with the singer in 2005 after almost 10 years. Helsinki was their final concert of that tour called "End of an Era". Straight after their break-up was published. A fact that had even been complained by the finish Prime Minister. It took some time for Nightwish until they were blessed to experience such peaks again. Finally, in 2012, they were extremely lucky to join forces with a second singer of such exceptional class...

Hey Bros 😀 Thanks for a great reaction to an amazing Nightwish performance featuring the band's original vocalist, Tarja. Nightwish's current vocalist, Floor, has not performed Phantom of the Opera with the band yet but I highly recommend you react to the following video clip from a Dutch singing show called Beste Zangers (Best Singers). The clip features Floor Jansen and Henk Poort (a Dutch opera singer) performing part of Phantom of the Opera. I saw your jaws hit the floor when you heard Tarja start hitting the high notes near the end of the performance. Tarja is definitely an amazing vocalist with a powerful soprano voice. Floor is also a very powerful vocalist and with a soprano voice that would probably shatter any pure crystal that happened to be close by! I love and respect the singing abilities of both Vocalists but for me and my own personal preference, Floor would be my favorite of the two. In my very humble opinion I feel that Floor has a larger vocal range than Tarja and can sing everything from the highest crystal shattering soprano notes all the way down to the lowest gutteral growls, and everything in between. Nightwish's 3 singers: 1. Tarja (original singer): 1995 to 2005 2. Annette: 2006 to 2012 3. Floor (current singer): 2013 to 2020+ everyone knows Floor, she's super popular with everyone, especially right now, and is a really good singer, having a huge variety of singing capability (pop, classical/opera, belting, growling/raspy), able to sing nightwish's old songs that were for Tarja's classical/opera singing, as well as new songs for her own variety/range of singing abilities Unfortunately for Annette, she's a pop/rock singer, and a very good singer too, but her pop/rock singing just didn't go that well with nightwish's music, which was made for Tarja's dark classical/opera singing. So, usually, she gets left out. so, it comes down to "Targasm” (Tarja) vs “Floorgasm” (Floor) in terms of the Nightwish singers in who you like most, if you like classical/opera singing better, Tarja is better at it, but that's all she does while with nightwish, as nightwish was created for tarja's unique dark operatic singing/voice, (now with her own band, or solo, she does a greater range of singing), but she does it really well, she's really got a beautiful voice, if you like more pop singing, belting and growling/raspy, with or without classical/opera singing, than you like Floor better I knew nightwish from the early 2000s, so Nightwish will always be with Tarja, but Nightwish with Floor is really good too, but it's Tarja, who's my favorite singer with nightwish (many others will help you out with Floor's songs, so I'll just stick to Tarja's songs here) ---------- if you do like Tarja with nightwish, here's some good ones: (NOT ranked, just listed) 1. It's a bittersweet time to be a Nightwish fan, as both of those singers you saw on stage have since left the band (Marco just recently, last month in fact). It's not the first time they're facing sudden changes to their lineup, so here's hoping they'll pull through this one as well.

Nightwish is like none other!! This is Tarja lead female singer. I actually like Floor Jensen better as well. Here's one of theirs that'll blow Ur mind srsly with Floor Jansen "The Greatest Show on Earth". It's long (20+ mins) but sooo worth it. After this gig band leader Tuomas Holopainen fired lead singer Tarja Turunen from band. Since then Nightwish did not exist like it used to be.
