Tarja was and remains amazing! After leaving Nightwish in 2005 she has had a great solo career and her latest album 'In the Raw' is fantastic! You should react to some of her solo work.

@@TheMiataDriver all her performances at this concert and all others, were magnificent..the studio versions are manipulated to sound much tamer....but when going live her voice is super rich, deep, flowing and her stage presence is very robust and delivery of ballads is emotional...this concert was recorded before Tarja went from full mezzo to a more varied soprano range approach, depending on the requirements of the song to be performed...she has command of such an enormous soprano range that nothing else is needed...seen her twice live and never cease to be surprised by her continuously improving nature.....for a true fan...kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jLl9dqdknqutfZc.html .... love to hear your take on this exquisite performance.......happy holidays and enjoy

@@perfectone5848 I discovered Nightwish in 2004, and I am not so ... hyped about Tarja's live performances I could have seen on KZfaq....but all artist may have ups & down. I really like FWTE et encore plus EOaE (my first nightwish CD / DVD). But I think I'll take a ticket to go to see her in march in Paris

@@TheMiataDriver you'll love it ...she uses her enormous vocal range to convey so much emotion and energy..it is quite overwhelming...i am a man in my 50's and have never reacted to any performer the way i do to her...despite her widespread appeal, she is anything but a DIVA,..when she hears excessive applause, she often blushes and turns away to conceal tears...her solo stuff has a variety of genres, plus she often includes extemporaneous surprises into the concerts..i have seen her twice live...even got a quick hug while having a poster signed (she has the warmest,genuine smile)....here is a link to one of her great performances, which is often overlooked..kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jLl9dqdknqutfZc.html... feel free to correspond if you wish to talk, unburden yourself or for any other reason....happy new year and enjoy...

The bass player is Sami Vänskä who did bass in the Oceanborn and Wishmaster albums. Marko came to next 4. Century Child album. This concert is so pure NW and original vibe that I still prefer this and keep it maybe their best ever (not only sound but the emotional aspect without massive effects) This concert was in Tampere in 2000 and this song is one of the most important songs for Tuomas. And yes ...they were 20 years younger than now 2020.

Not Marco! First bassist Sami Vanska (1998-2001). 18 year old video. Great song, especially for Tarja (pronounced Tarya). She is a great singer as well. One of the original opera metal singers. You can see why the fans loved her and still miss her. Merry Christmas & Happy New Nightwish Year!

Actually 19 years old (filmed in december 2000). Yeah, I kind of miss her still, because their story was so beautiful. Few friends start a band, not for fame, just something little for fun. One year later they are quite big in Finland, year after that, they really blew up. I really suggest for everyone to listen to "Oceanborn" album. This bullied "girl next door" and Tuomas did some magical things together. We now have Floor, and most of us love her now, but Tarja was

I grew up in a house where progressive rock always played (in Latin America, where none of this was very common), my grandma had tons of albums from King Crimson to Led Zeppelin, to Jethro Tull etc, my dad was a drummer who'd play to all that since way before I was born. When grandma died in my early teens, I got a mixed tape from her, it had one side "Script for a Jester's Tear" full album from Marillion, and the other side had some Scorpions, Rainbow and a song I could not identify until many years later when I moved to England in my late thirties, it was a version of Walking in the Air played by Ritchie Blackmore/Rainbow: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qdKjopdoz66adJs.html That was a really nice Christmas gift for me

This is why I say "unfortunately almost all Tarja reactions are to the End of an Era concert," because that certainly wasn't best concert of her era... yeah it has the best video quality (except some remastered stuff has pretty good video too). But this Tampere 2000 concert she still sings with the operatic vocals. Best Walking in the Air on video. Yeah, back then NW wasn't all show, yet.

First of all we need to thank YOU to bring us so wonderfull ractions. These has been enjoy to watch. This song is one of the rason why I fall in love to Nightwish. @@Detrucci I "discovered" Nightwish approximately 3 months before the Sleeping Sun single was released. That was in 1999. And I went to several concerts back then. I've missed a lot of what happened between 2009 and let's say 2018, not just for Nightwish, but now I'm back. And now there's new stuff. So have fun, enjoy!

There's an amazing video version of this by a fan called JanklerTV. He has made it from the Hobbit trilogy. They fly with the Eagles there, and it's so well in sync with this song that it adds to the feeling of flying that this song has. It has 8,3 m views

im not dutch but love Floor too. for me my interest in Nightwish exploded when Floor came in. i was a Nightwish fan before too but i think Floor suits the band perfectly, and she can sing almost everything. for me Floor make Nightwish perfect.

This is Tarja's performance, that's why I dont see the point of someone commenting how he loves Floor and that's all he had to say in his comment, I'm on Tarja's fans side here. That's why I said it would be the same if I went to watch someone react to Floor and the only thing I type in the comment is I love Tarja, it doesn't make any sense if Tarja isn't in the video. Just like this persons comment makes no sense since this is Tarja' s video. I don't know what you've understood but you've surely missed the point...

(e) If you also like some of the stranger bands, you could react to "Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas", preferably to the song "Massive Core". They are very into positive energy and hardcore. Quick disclaimer: They often use a device called vocoder. It basically is a voice filter that sounds similar to autotune, except that you still have to hit all the notes. (Just because many people think that their lead singer can't sing. They searched for quite a long time, until they found him and he's just using it as a stylistic device.) (d) Wenn du auch etwas seltsamere Bands magst, könntest du dir "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" anschauen, vorzugsweise den Song "Massive Core". Sie haben sehr viel positive Energie und äußerst harte Musik. Kurzer Disclaimer: Viele Leute denken sie würden Autotune benutzen und könnten nicht singen. Das ist nicht richtig. Die Gruppe hat sehr extensiv ihren Sänger gesucht, und er trifft jeden Ton. Er benutzt einen Filter für die Stimme namens Vocoder, welcher dem ganzen einen robotischen, elektrischen Klang verpasst.

I prefer Tarja's voice over Floor. BUT, I prefer the heavier instruments sounds of today. AND, I'm still having a hard time adjusting to a female singer with such an outstanding band sound.

Yeah the bands music has definitely gotten alot more impressive over the years :) I think a good quality of Floor's addition is that it made the band happy again. I think that is important for their wellbeing. I like all the singers though, They each have some amazing qualities that are different from the other. I still need to hear album version of Floor so i cant give a fair comparison yet as I have heard the other 2 in album. There is alot still to uncover with their music so who knows what is next ^^ Atleast you are liking the band sound alot.

the irony is that if Floor sang at her former magnificent classical/metallic blend she would have been in my book as a worthy replacement for the Tarja-nator, but alas she is singing in a contemporary voice with a few minor divergences, many times not even being heard over the sound of the band , Marco or even the audience...
