The animated short "The Snowman" was a huge part of my childhood. I get a lot of mixed feelings when I hear this song; it's haunting. This is a good version.

Yes , the original version, sung by a child , is amazing. I saw the film when I was an adult, but I enjoyed it as a child.

I first heard this song when I was very, very young, in a game called The Snowman. I was never able to understand the lyrics, nor did I know who it was by. I discovered Nightwish as a band, thirteen years later, and I've only just found this song. The nostalgia is unreal.

Originally sang by Peter Auty and that's the version on the film, not Aled Jones as most people think, he sang it on TV after its release due to Peter Autys voice had broken. Tarja is absolutely amazing in this and the Nightwish arrangement is perfect.
