New songs written specifically with Floor in mind. 'Yours Is An Empty Hope' is the 4th track on the 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' studio album. This concert was another milestone for Nightwish, they were the first Finnish band to headline Wembley Arena. In a Wembley Arena annual poll for the best live performance of 2015, they came 2nd to Queen. Floor is doing all the growling, using false vocal cords technique, IIRC a technique she learned / mastered during the 'ReVamp'(band) days.

Yeah...my favorite Nightwish song, too...hard as it is to pick one. But everything in this song flows so naturally, and there's so much going on, and Tuomas deploys nearly every trick in his composer's arsenal.

That was a proper reaction to Floor's growls! But kudos to you also for not only noticing that guitarist Empuu got a chance to lead with some heavier guitar on this one, but also their stage performance where you can see them embody the lyrics with their facial expressions. They're all in when they do their thing live & the artistry is amazing on multiple levels. Along a similar vein, I wanted to throw a reaction request your way & see what you/your lady think. This is a band that I fell down the rabbit hole with almost as hard as with Nightwish & Epica. The band is out of Los Angeles, CA called IN THIS MOMENT. The band's sound/direction have morphed slightly over the years, but they're a tight unit along with having a fierce front woman to go to musical battle with. Her name is Maria Brink & the best way I can describe her is equal parts Rob Zombie/Marilyn Manson/Lady Gaga. She can scream/growl with the best of them, but also varies her sound with guttural soulfulness on various tracks. There's a slightly abstract artistic quality in their music videos that feature visually stunning elements (Maria's vision) & sonically powerful tones (thanks to her lead guitarist Chris Howorth & bandmates). Floor Jansen, no H in there, *can* growl - and pretty decently as you've heard - just rarely does because the head writer of Nightwish, Tuomas Holopainen, doesn't write many growl parts into their songs.
