What is the problem with existential philosophy is that it states life has no purpose or meaning but one can create the meaning by oneself. Saying this existentialists are fooling themselves. However, nihilistic understanding is explicit in conveying their idea that neither life has any purpose, nor any kind of meaning can be created in it. So essentially, nihilism is presenting at least the concept which truly reflects the pattern of life without God, contrary to existentialist's cunning tactics.

Victor Frankl argues that humans are creatures of meaning, driven by the will to meaning, not the will to power as Nietzsche argued. Meaning is an amazing concept, it's not material, its not something you can behold. It's something that humans alone can abstract. And despite it being totally unquantifiable, is absolutely essential to our ability to function in a natural and healthy way. All beings are driven to reach their full potential, there is physical evolution but then there is spiritual evolution. We are driven as by meaning in order to validate our existence; when you seek that validation through contingent Being, then your existence remains invalidated forever since contingent Being depends on something else for its existence, ad infinitum. It is only by uncovering the permanent, the Absolute, the Universal upon which all contingency is predicated, that one attains to true Being. And this is related to the Islamic concept of the Universal Man, the Insaan al-Kamil. What's at the heart of Nihilism is the ontological inversion of Being. As soon as the nature of Being is reduced to the physical, since the physical eschews meaning per se, we lack meaning. The ontology of capitalism, which I think is the logical end conclusion of what describes what was set in motion at the turn of the century with the rise of modernity, is that in order to become, one must accumulate and amass and consume sufficiently. But as you guys pointed out earlier with the reference to Nietzsche, once you have killed God, then there remains a void in the heart that can never be filled except by God; so it is not that man has killed God, but that man has killed its own soul. It's interesting the question in the Qur'an, "do you think this world is all that there is?" The struggle today, the struggle of all times rather, is the struggle against nihilism. Nihilism is the manifested experience of disbelief. It is the fruits of disbelief as the manifested category of experience that is premised on the (dis)belief that there is no light in the darkness of death, that there is only an eternal goodbye for all who we love. This nihilism is a message of despair while the struggle to believe in God is a message of hope. Nihilism can be analogous to what we understand as jahiliiyah [ignorance]. It is metaphysical ignorance, so when there is a loss of metaphysics, then there is the loss of the knowledge of one's own nature. The reference of Imam Ali to the macrocosm within the human being [the microcosm] is absolutely true. As Dr. Umar Faruq Abdallah says, Beauty is the splendor of Truth. The Beauty in the cosmos above is a reflection of the nature of the subjective character of experience. The Beauty of the cosmos is painted on the canvass the mind. Dr. Syed Hossein Nasr talks about the inversion of philosophy and metaphysics; in the pre-modern period, philosophy was a branch of metaphysics. In the modern world, metaphysics is a branch of philosophy. It shows the inversion of ontology and epistemology; in the pre-modern period, epistemology came from ontology. But in the modern world, ontology comes from epistemology. This is represented in Descates statement, "I think therefore I am." So here we have consciousness prior to Being whereas originally it was Being prior to consciousness. So we are effectively reduced to thought, and therefore, to the contents of consciousness. That is, we are reduced to phenomena. Great talk, glad to see people on the right track. The path has been set, and it appears that people are walking it.

I’m a revert and I’m confused can someone please answer my Question , Are the instruments in the opening Music allowed ????

I am not a scholar so I may be wrong. However we need to understand as to why instruments are not allowed generally. It's generally speaking of a full scale music where a person indulges himself completely to enjoy it, dance to it, move about it or may have some wordly attachment. Or even a unnecessary useless wasting of time or may include like something like enjoying intoxicants. Using Music as background or at start or little here or there, I don't think is a problem. Cause Music when we think of it, its like full fledge only music. So like playing of some instruments here or there is not a big deal. So I don't think its haram. There are a few scholars who have allowed it like even Imam Al Ghazali. God knows best.

The nasheed is called "Ya Maulana". There are no musical instruments in it. The background noise is created through vocals and claps. "All the sounds were made only by my voice and hands (No instruments were used)." The song can be found here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m5hmiqieuK2xl5s.html
