To people shouting RICE... Japanese don't have that sort of ego stroking mentality. They respect each others passions regardless of if they like/agree or not. To each their own.

One thing you can always always see in Japan is the respect. No matter how crazy and wild one is from the another, the amount of respect they show each other is pretty incredible. Totally different story in the US lol Just saying. The individuality they have with their vehicles and how damn clean they are >_

You can say whatever you want but they don't care what other people think about it, they just want to HAVE FUN, wich is really what it's all about. I would love to go to Japan.... some day.... The Japanese have always been ahead of the curve with automotive tastes. But look at the last few decades, it's been about reinventing that curve, tearing it up and redesigning it how they want. Does it look like anything we have out on the road in our Western fantasies? Not at all. That's why these guys get max respect and full cred for their builds, and next to no hostility or bullshit from others with different tastes. We Westerners could learn a thing or two from them.

2 Things I miss most about my time stationed in Japan: 1. Japanese women 2. Car Culture; particularly the underground aspects of it: Roulettezoku, Tougezoku, zero-yon, dori, et cetera. I wish there was an Upgarage here in the US. I still have some parts and shopping bags from times when I was living there. The other things are simple like the arcades and conbini food like onigiri. I also enjoyed hanging out at bookstores and reading manga.

Accusations of rice here is exactly why I hate the western car "culture". Western car scene is dominated by purists with delusions that you must build(or not build) your car in certain style to earn respect. They react with disrespect or even outright hostility towards those with different tastes. Any tuners that's not a sleeper is a despicable "ricer" to these people, it's childish and discourage creativity. Which is why I much prefer and love the car scene here in Japan, although we may share different tastes we still respect those who put their time and love into their build even if we hate it. After all we love cars even if it is for different reasons, we don't feel the need to invent asinine words to put down those we find distasteful. If you were to come to Daikoku PA you will find everything from European supercars to American muscles, JDM, classics, tuners and even actual ricers with gaudy mods and fart can exhaust, we don't fight over which one is the best and all have a good time checking out each others builds. This is not to say we're perfect and don't discriminate but it rarely happens compared to the west and certainly isn't the norm. There wouldn't be Liberty Walk or Rocket Bunny if we shared a western mentality regarding cars. This is why we get some of the most outrageous and interesting builds while those in the west are enjoying their generic lambo number 1286.
@christopherdaniel6142
@christopherdaniel6142 6 жыл бұрын
end to end agree with you ,they enjoy the risks taken by one that if were in the west did ...would be labeled a" ricer". think about it the first rocket bunny 86 was stock ,rims and mufflers .

The thing i love about Japanese car culture is that they put their everything into a car and make i their own. In north america people seem to constantly jump projects and try to amass full garages of cars. I think this can kinda be seen in GTA where you collect everything and fill as many garages as possible, whereas in Japan they find the one car for them and then take it to the limit of their style. I think this dedication to one thing is what allows them to truly perfect their own style. One a side note, it's a little sad to only see these older guys. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome to see these guys pursuing their passions but it's a shame that there doesn't seem to be many younger Japanese wanting to keep this culture alive or even bring their own take on it.

This is basically Car Culture as of 2017 >Tuners in Japan just love whatever culture there is at cars and just enjoys their builds,no matter how crazy it is,from upgrading JDM Cars to restoring/improving classics and keeps the aesthetics in them. Even if it's a rich guy with a LB Lambo , a Aesthetic Drift car or even a ricer. They don't care and they would even get along,being humble to everyone which makes the JDM Culture really great.They don't go with the usual car trends,they just do what they want to do with their cars. Meanwhile though in the Western Culture,it's different,instead of pleasure it's more about competition every day. Like if they see a JDM car or a car with stickers and neon lights they would instantly say "RICERS!" (Like majority of the comments in this video). to them,they just want to get as many attentions as possible.Debating,arguing and making fun of other peoples cars. Also they REALLY love trends,like putting their Quick,Reliable yet Heavy Engines on ANY car(Examples:LS on a RX-7,LS in a ford,etc.) ,Slamming it on tarmacs and takes it on the Drag strip since they care more about power rather than overall capabilities of the car. Anyways i made this comment not because i want to defend JDM culture or anything,but hoping(at least) for anyone to get along,What's the point of competition when everyone else hates you. Just read the Liberty walk's Tagline in all of their kits "Imagine a world where everyone lived in Peace."

When I was younger, I saw Bosozoku cars and thought they were just bad, but I'm actually starting to appreciate them. I have a personal preference issue with the hard bends in the exhaust that bugs me, but what really sold me was that spinning purple light. So old school, but with a new color. It reminded me of something we might have seen from the original Mad Max with Mel Gibson. Gotta love people doing what they love well, even if you don't personally "get it".

I'm the same. I'd love if I could do something without having people give their opinions. Just ignore me and I'll be content with my own property and what I do with it.

Asian hate is real in the west. Do you know why? because the future belongs to them and your media + government hates it.

RICE stands for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement I don't think LED is RACE INSPIRED so if you'r calling these people RICER then you don't even know what you are talking about stop been ignorant. I bet the majority of you calling then out drive a 90s civic with plastidiped wheels and cant even afford that aftermarket wheel you wanted for months.....just stop been keyboard heroes -.-If you like cars than just appreciate what other peoples do with it not every one should have same taste as you do....

This is why I love Japans's car culture, its all about passion for creativity and nothing else....Unlike the toxic car culture that would rather ridicule a build that doesn't fit their tastes and scream "RICER HAHA GET REKT"
