There's no such thing as supply chain issues when it comes to Nike. They can make a trillion of these if they wanted to. They have the facilities to do it. Look at how abundant the Air Force 1s are. The reason it's rare has nothing to do with supply chain, but rather to give their products a more exclusive feel.
@16soccerball3 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. Yes, cause they can ask other factories to produce and no because they would need to halt production on other models that might make more than the flyease
@NO1xANIMExFAN3 жыл бұрын
@@16soccerball if you think they need to "halt production on other models" as if their factories are working 24/7 all the time producing shoes, then you're delusional. Nike can make as many of these shoes as they wanted to. the only thing stopping them is to make them more exclusive, which builds up the brand. helping people with accessibility issues is NOT their main priority AT ALL
@Jumalten0013 жыл бұрын
Air Force 1s are not abundant though, they are a hard cap each year. Go talk to shoe stores for example, they'll tell you they only get a set amount for the entire year.

Thanks for mentioning this issue cause it needs to be known. I got my hand severely injured 2 years ago so it's difficult to tie my shoes. It's embarrassing and sucks to ask people to help tie your shoes especially if your a grown adult. I was waiting for these to come out and yeah basically can't get a pair unless I pay $450+ that's messed up. Nike supposedly was gonna release more April 30th, never happened. So it's a problem with Nike and these resellers both need to get their act together.

@Jumalten0013 жыл бұрын
Every single press release NIKE did for this shoe was about it being a GR release, it was never ment for only disabled people. There are other Flyease shoes which are actually even easier for disabled people to put on. This shoe came about because the Croc trend is picking up and Nike wants to cash in on that.

@AttilaTheDev3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. There are at least 6 theoretical models of disability and only one of those is medical. Inclusive and universal design is not a medical concern. People are not disabled, it’s bad and exclusive design that disables them.

Finally someone pushing the message about the issue with Nike's shoes mainstream. You can't buy any decent shoes at the moment due to nike limiting the amount of the shoes. Its a joke and could probably have a case in court.
@paulwright60443 жыл бұрын
On what basis could you sue? You can't force a shoe company to make a certain type of shoe for you. Nike doesn't even end up making any extra money on these limited runs and their markups, as it is these resellers that are gouging customers (and only then because they have willing participants who will pay these asking prices). This is why I think Nike should put more out; they are leaving money on the table for scalpers to take.
@DeadAir213 жыл бұрын
@@paulwright6044 it’s not always that simple. People have always complained that they couldn’t get the sneakers they wanted. Then in 2018 Nike mass produced most of their retros and most of them sat on shelves for months and people complained that they didn’t feel special because everyone had them. There’s no amount of pairs Nike can produce to meet demand because it would just bring more bots and resellers into the market.

They should have partnered with medical supplies stores so that these could only be gotten via a prescription. Additionally, could be covered (or partially) by their insurance provider. Everyone from nike to insurance companies could have not only gotten the bag, but could've also delivered to their target market.
