people blame nike when in reality it’s on the teams. they’re the one who designs their own jerseys. when nike took over in 2017 they didn’t just randomly hire new designers for 30 teams or make some designers work overtime and design jerseys for each team. no they made it the teams responsibilities. it’s much easier and cheaper when nike just lets teams do whatever they want and all they have to do is approve the design and produce it

Why dont they just have multiple sponsors per team? some teams are sponsored by Nike, some by Adidas and some by Puma or whoever is offering up the most money to be their shirt sponsor, otherwise you get the downsides of monopolies

All teams have their basic Home and Away Jersey which rarely change. But then each team has 3 alternative jersey's generally 'City', 'Classic', 'Statement' editions. These probably change so they can get more sales. It's like how phone companies release new phones every year with small changes

I don't know what you're talking about, those jerseys actually look nice. I think the color scheme for the Minnesota one is their bus line or train system and the warriors one looks pretty spiffy. I'm sure someone will like the Detroit ones

I love how they do the New Jersey’s so often, keeps it fresh!! That’s how I wish the NFL and MLB would do!! The MLB is comin along faster, and now finally the NFL has even started with with alternate helmets and uni’s, I can only hope my Ravens follow suit cuz it gets old just seein the same old same, Ima die hard fan from Baltimore so that’s my on team, but i also have always liked the Chargers, my favorite color is that baby/powder blue, and I always envied how the Chargers always had the alternate uni’s!!!

The Pistons jersey is kinda supposed to be a high school one. It honors St. Ciciela’s Gym in Detroit, which is like a basketball Mecca here, and it’s a gym where a ton of Michigan talent got their start. Once I knew the history, I liked them a lot more

What they should do is have a competition for designers and artists in the city for a jersey design, fans vote on each and they just do that every year

Minus the brief sleeve jersey stint I always thought Adidas made the best jerseys so many iconic uniform designs and ideas from That era, (Christmas, Saint pats, nickname, or special ring night jerseys etc…)

As a Celtics fan my favorites were the 2019-2020 city jeresys with the gold Irish font and the rune trim. Wish those were normal alternatives

The Twolves Jersey from the Garnett Era was the best in the history of the franchise in my oponion plus they match it by wearing a white socks & white shoes when they are wearing Home & Away Jersey. That style is simple but looks great. The Cavs & Nuggets Jersey that had been change when Melo & Bron enter their teams are one of the best I hope they won't change it

That's the thing of American pro sports leagues. All the leagues always had collective and exclusive contracts for the apparel. That's make only a brand monopolies the league which make it monotone. . Imagine if every teams had their own deals with some particular brand that made it unique like what happened in Euroleague or football leagues in general

A lot of these Jerseys are outsourced to marketing and design companies then the respective nba team's people give Notes on what they want to change or they take liberties with the designs depending on the contract.

This is what happens when a company has a monopoly on all the uniform the players use. Gotta have other companies sponsor other teams' uniforms, otherwise it'll go downhill from here
