I think the lyrics about selling the car, walking for miles, living live in taxis connects in such a way that it tells about her and the relationship. Basically the music is about losing your significant other. "And you sold your car", selling is somewhat like throwing away the things that you don't want anymore, in this case the guy broke up with her. Having a car can be seen as a comfort / luxury in life, which on the next line "now you walk for miles and your feet feels numb" can also mean that his life is not comfortable anymore now that she's gone and his heart is not feeling any love (numb). The taxi part "and I hope yoy're happy living life in taxis" can explain how he tries to find new lovers but no one really lasts (only temporarily). NIKI, YOUR LYRICS ARE SO GENIUS. MY QUEEEN 🔥😭

I am a new fan of Niki. I discovered her with her song, Indigo. Don't know but she gives a vibe to me that cheers me up. I was in the point that I am worthless and no one cares about me. Henry Low In the first line she’s basically saying that even though he hurt her badly she’ll always be there for him. In the second line the city of angels is Los Angeles a city in California where she lived, the demons are her the bad feelings that follow or are “faithful” so she’s hinting at the irony

Her voice and the beautifully written lyrics has been stuck in my head for days since I first heard it on Spotify.. When she said "pretty little white lies got me good. thought this was love, I was misunderstood" damn I felt that. I'm currently at a moving on stage from a relationship that failed since we became long distance bc of covid lockdown. We used to be together everyday and it's been hard but we tried to make it work. I'm slowly coming to a realization that looking back at our memories, it already seemed like it's going nowhere but I was too busy looking at him through rose-colored glasses. Being apart just seemed to trigger us both because our situation became too inconvenient and apparently we weren't that solid. All I could say is that I'm also done making excuses for him and waiting for him to change. I won't hold on to empty promises anymore because I know I deserve better and I'll just focus on working on myself. Someday I'll be able to love again and that person will be everything I prayed for and more. I''ll look back at this comment someday, fully healed.

This song makes me so sad. I had a crush on a guy I knew since 4th grade (I'm now a sophomore in college). He always had this huge ego and he was bullied for it. I saw through all of it. He had strict parents and out of everyone, he was the hardest on himself. I like him even though he was outwardly rude to me, my friends, and even adults. He boasted about how smart he was ALL the time, and he was smart, but people hated him for that. He grew up and this disappeared. Halfway through high school, he realized how much of a douchebag he was. He used to be super short and now he's super tall. He used to have the messiest mop of curly dark hair but now it's coiffed. He used to wear track pants and sweaters and now he dresses like a frat boy. He had many haters and now he has many friends. He won many academic awards, and now he goes to Columbia University in Manhattan. Even though he grew up in appearance, he grew up inside the most. No matter how he changed, he's still the sensitive and ambitious boy I met in 4th grade. My best friends hated him (for valid reasons) so I never told them how I felt about him. I hid this secret since 4th grade and I have still never told a single person. When I listen to this song, it reminds me of how he's living it up in New York City, working for and getting to live his dreams. He's really my inspiration. I don't live in Los Angeles, I live in the Midwest, but the lyrics still pierce my core. I miss him a lot, and I always wonder how he's doing. I used to listen to Niki when she's still known as Nicole Zefanya and my gosh the set up and her playing the guitar with that angle just -- triggers memories from her old videos. It just shows how far she has achieve and that she is able to release her works. Glad I was in for the journey and would gladly stick around ti'll sunsets and sunrise.

this song, specifically this version, is just so special to me. a couple days after this version was uploaded, it was my 20th birthday. i was celebrating the day in the city i love the most, the place where i feel most at home. i put the video on loop for the longest time, it made me feel warm and safe. it will always be special to me, be it back then, now, or 5, 20 years in the future.

I really cried so hard after listening to your songs because it perfectly reciprocates what I'm going through right now after I saw my first love. But he lives now from thousand miles away here.
