This piece is about how the man goes crazy... О том как человек сходит с ума. Более точного определения я не встречал. Исполнение - на твердую пятерку. Браво!!!

This is the best interpretation of the piece of course (except I don't love the finale but it's fine) I'm just checking this piece, I really like Koshkin's compositions and who else will play it so great but Asya, being in that relationship with the composer, just awesome :)

Wonderful! My favourite interpretation on KZfaq by far. I just love the details like the small accelerando starting at 5:53 that add a beautiful bit of tension and madness. Shame about the tone, but I blame KZfaq for that.

i think this is a wonderful performance of a spectacular piece! i've read several comments about the sound, and perhaps it is a little thin, but it works! i am studying this piece as well, and this is the version that i refer to quite often. i have to believe that mr. koshkin's wife performs this exactly the way that he intends it to be performed! -keith
wow...why all this criticism against the composer himself? I am most certain that none of you have not even a fraction of his compositional skills and musicianship. This is true ignorance from those who find that their opinion about the work, or the player is credible. Koshkin's pieces need very high skill levels technically AND analytically. I suggest that you take the composers opinions into very serious consideration. It is very rare that a such a wonderful composer is so social.

Her abilities make me think that it's time for me to put down my classical guitar. She's way too good.
@Gitarobert13 жыл бұрын
@LSpencer777 You got a point there. But I think it's not necesarrily bad technique, more a matter of personal taste. I think the strong tone as nkoshkin calls it, suits Asya's style and is very effective in this piece. But I agree with you that it's a rather harsh sound. Myself, I would prefer a warmer sound too. With more flesh and less nail.
@lengotin12 жыл бұрын
crazyness i dig it =O)
@ClassicalGas9113 жыл бұрын
@SingHouse He ìs Nikita Koshkin himself, but I think you are so right. Her tone is thin/harsh/naily, but I think Koshkin won't admit this because she's his wife. One advice: if you put a video online that means that everyone can watch it AND comment it. Everyone can give his/her opinion and you just have to deal with that. If you don't want comments, then just disable it...
@nkoshkin13 жыл бұрын
@ClassicalGas91 I won't admit this nonsence because I know Asya's sound not from what the PC gives out. I listen to her playing every day. Sometimes she can sound harsh because she is a very powerful player. But her tone is not thin and not naily. It was not me who put the video online. It's not on my channel. So I cannot operate with the comments, I cannot disable them or delete or whatever... I can only express my opinion together with the others. Same as You do or anybody else.

Nikita Koshkin is indeed, influenced by rock. So, afar from being a funny comment...it's kinda true :P
@paolomontini2176 жыл бұрын
It's an effect called "Bartok Pizzicato". Bela Bartok, famous hungarian composer of the first half of the twentieth century, used it first in his string quartets (if I remember correctly). Rock music has nothing to do with it.

This piece would benefit from having an even more "unhinged" approach. Watch the film with Vincent Price and see how bizarre it is. I'd like to see that madness coming through a little - it is in the music already. She certainly gets there by the 4m mark but I think she could be doing this from the start.
@michaelarimes11 жыл бұрын
I think she has quite a nice sound. I also think it's kind of ridiculous that people are arguing with you about her sound. Clearly they do not know what they're talking about.

@Gitarobert This is pointless discussion. Both of You sounds like music school teacher who doesn't want to accept great playing of the pupil of another teacher. Best interpretation of my "Usher-Waltz"! I've never heard anybody else playing this piece like that! And about the sound I can give an advice. Come to Asya's concert. Listen to the quality of her sound directly, live. Not through the machines connected with the wires and all the other electronic sources provided the internet.

@crazycool1128 Williams is great. But this performance is in a way more crazy... like it should be... like the story...
@LSpencer77713 жыл бұрын
A very effective presentation visually, but the tone is thin. That's because her right-hand stroke should be from the large knuckle, but it's from the second and third joints. For example, see 0:32 - 0:34, where her large knuckle is actually pulling her fingers back from the strings while her smaller joints are moving in the opposite direction. Sorry, but that's bad technique and you can hear it in her tone. I know I'll get flamed for criticizing a beautiful woman, but that's the way it is.

to much naily sound:/ but a love so much the frase after armonics
@SummerStreetRecords8 жыл бұрын
José Coello if anything the strong naily sounding you are hearing is from the mic/mic placement/recording. Pretty sure Roman was working out the production of the video/sound when this was made. This performance is Great regardless. Give a listen to some of the newer videos..they sound gorgeous.
@sotiriskaliakoudas48687 жыл бұрын
José Coello I agree this has to do with the recording. Sound is too flat. Perhaps because of the mic or the mastering (too much compression,eq etc.). maybe even the room is too soundproofed

@SingHouse Well, You need a doctor. But I'm not the one. I'm only composer. Can't help.
@classicalguitar7012 жыл бұрын
@nkoshkin @singhouse You're both right! Just get rid of your strange little pride issues here. Her tone, in other recordings, is lovely. Something about this specific one, whether it was her nails that day, or the mic being too close to the guitar, is a bit tinny sounding. Could be the EQ as much as anything. If we look at this objectively, we can learn from it. Otherwise, people just get offended, and then how much further are we in life? The composition is awesome, her technique is great
