Hey Nik, would be great to see a video from you on how a rec player should approach training and practice in order to improve. How many hours a week with a coach, how many hours a week with a hitting partner, how to make practice sessions without a coach productive, etc. Many folks cant afford too many hours with a coach, but it's hard to improve and get better when just hitting with a friend. Would love to hear from you!

My game is based on the fact that my opponent underestimates my shots and game play. My backpack aids tremendously in this and I even won tournaments with this style. My opponent in that final admitted after the match that due to my appearance and shots in practice he thought he could not lose this.

It’d be great if you could do a video on warming up before a match, share some of your insight and experience on strengthening some areas like shoulders, elbow and knees with some tips or exercises. Personally I’ve been suffering from shoulder problems which impacted a lot on my game almost even considering stopping it entirely. As always loved the video, quality content as expected of you, thanks.

I like my adidas tennis back pack! Right now its holding 3 rackets, 4 cans of balls, 4 water bottles, a change of clothes and medical equipment. I look cool AF walking on the court.

I have the Adidas back pack, also, and it is wonderful. Unlike traditional bags it is designed to be hung vertically on the fence although you can also prop it up vertically against a bench. This makes use of the specially shaped compartments which not only hold a LOT of gear but make it easier to find items which traditional bags tend to jumble up.

The outfit you wear to protect you of the sun reminds me of my own experience. I wear a hijab and so only my face and hands are not covered when I'm out in the sun. Most people assume that it must be really hard because it must be really hot. In reality, I don't think it feels much hotter and you get great protection from the sun. Well worth the trade-off in my opinion! Thank you for this lovely video and all of your other videos as well! I recently came across your videos and have just gotten back into playing tennis so they've been super helpful!

Very interesting video with great points, Nik. One question: how specifically do plastic bags over the racket head protect the strings? Regarding nutrition: my understanding is that you can avoid the sugar high followed by the sugar low by taking some protein and fiber along with the sweet. So dates are great because they are high fiber. Eating a few walnuts along with, e.g., raisins, will even out the sugar variation by providing both fiber and protein. I am a big fan of arm sleeves. I believe they achieve their cooling power by drawing sweat away from your arm into its fabric where it can more easily evaporate as well as radiating sunlight (if they are white). However, I do not use these on cloud days as I find that they make me warmer than not wearing them. If you don't need to carry more than six rackets, I find the Adidas bag a better alternative than traditionally shaped bags. This bag is designed to be placed vertically so that its specially designed deep storage pockets can hold items with less jumbling than traditional bags cause. As far as overgrips, have you tried Völkl's V-Dry grips? For me they combine great absorption power with a very comfortable feel. They don't seem to be commonly used but that may simply be due to marketing insufficiency.

I find changes in moisture can affect strings.
@Fernwald84
@Fernwald84 3 жыл бұрын
@@IntuitiveTennis Interesting observation, Nik. Gut strings, of course, were notorious for poor results in high humidity. I would have guessed that polyester strings would be more immune to moisture since--I assume--being plastic they are hydrophobic (don't absorb water). But maybe moisture affects them in some other way. Of course moisture will affect tennis balls (at least those with some wool in their coats) by making them fluff up sooner and they will travel a bit more slowly in humid air because of its greater density. But maybe this is a barely perceptible effect. I'm too busy always toweling off to notice. lol

Not in agreement making fun of backpacks. Much cheaper and easier for those on a bike to use a backpack to the courts than a big babolat bag they charge tons of $ for and get free advertising. BTW, funny to see many players show up with the most expensive rackets and accessories and tons of stuff, but still play bad tennis.

Hi Nick, back in the day I used to play with a Prince “Woodie” racquet. Do you remember them? Anyway I would leave them in my car not in a tennis bag and one time the temperature got so hot that both racquets warped. My question is, with the materials used in modern racquets , is it safe to keep my racquet in my bag in my car when I’m not playing for awhile? I know that they won’t warp; but, will the strings be compromised ? Living in a climate where the temperature can drop into the teens during the winter I may only play 3 times a week indoors and I keep my bag in the trunk. Thanks
@IntuitiveTennis

I also pack a mosquito repellent, a wind-breaker & pants, face mask & hand sanitizer, and mobile phone & wallet. Funny about the backpack... it doesn’t protect the racquet grip from absorbing dirt & dust.

@@warehouse13-motorsports I think u got me wrong here. I'm sure you know what you need to bring on court in order play tennis. Nobody needed to tell you to bring a specific item, because you made your own experiences by playing this often. There are so many people these days who gain too much theoretical knowledge, but never actually make their own experiences. They just do thinks, because other people do it too. I hope now you understand what I've meant.

I’ve been using a lot of energy gels & chews and Dates are healthier and easy to put in my pocket (esp for snowboarding).... My point is - sometimes, a pointless video.may not be that “useless”.
