I remember videos of him as a kid playing basketball for local clubs in Vojvodina. I took notice of him when he first appeared in our national selections playing in international tournaments. There was something about him even when he was a youngster. As a person who trained basketball, I knew that he would be good. But how good, I could not imagine. When I saw him playing for the Nuggets the first year he was drafted, that was the year I started following NBA again after a long hiatus (Ever since the Sacramento Kings lost to the Lakers in the 2002 conference finals). I started following the NBA again because of this man and I am not sorry. He's a joy to watch, because he plays this beautiful sport exactly as it should be played. All people who enjoy basketball in its purest form should enjoy watching him play. There won't be another one like him in a long time.

What's cool to me is he waits just a second or two until the defense coalesces around him before passing AND he has them off balance for just enough time that his teammates can take their three point shots leisurely. His between the legs pass? Brilliant!

I mean I'm a Nuggets fan so this might sound biased to some. Jokic is already a top 3 passer all time. Any position not just center. He's 7 years in. An it already takes a 30-40 minute video to watch his best passes. End of his career this might be a solid 2 plus hour video of insane 10 second clips. Nikola Jokic has officially started the era of the "point center". He should be considered as the greatest passing big man of his generation.

Dude in his 8th year got more assists than Blake Griffin, Lamar Odom, Marc Gasol or Al Horford, players that were considered as great passing big guys, and his doing this in absolute nonchalant way.

Did it in only 8 seasons and the first 2 he didn't really play or have a huge role. So basically 6 seasons and already has the all time assist record for the Nuggets. He only needs 400 more to become top 3 all time for a center. He's just ridiculous at this point.

He is bringing a breath of fresh air to basketball, reminding everyone that it is a team's sport, where the collaboration is fundamental. Passing is always underrated in the NBA, and individual skills are overrated. Who cares if the dunk is done from the top of 12 feet or 13 feet jump? What's important is that the team wins, not the individual.

What a savant Jokic is! The announcers all say “oh my!” because most of these passes are just so unexpected by everyone in the arena, even them. It’s a testament to the togetherness that the Nuggets play with cuz they’re the only ones ready for it.

Great assists are more exciting for me then a dunk. Dunks are good but great assists should get just as much love.

Jokic is going to have such a big group of former teammates there in person when he is one day inducted into the Hall of Fame, he loves getting his guys the ball if they stay active and cut to the rim. One of my favorite things is just watching the guy who is supposed to be defending Jokic in awe or immediately going to yell at the ref because the pass was so perfectly done. Also missed my favorite one against the Clippers when they had him triple teamed in the closing seconds last spring, and he goes across the court straight into AGs hands for an open game winning 3.
