Well, everyone seems to think of Rimsky-Korsakov as just the Flight of the Bumblebee and nothing more, and they just write him off. I am guilty of this myself, and every time I regret it because he's so good!

@@user-kp9of7re9q Actually, Rimsky-Korsakov himself acknowledged Schumann's influence (especially the Manfred Overture).

@@GoldinDr But it has a Russian/Slavic feel to it. Anton Rubinstein's symphonies do not.

This is the first symphony, wrote by composer of "Mighty Bunch" (The Mighty Five). Anton Rubinstein was not one of them.

@@geeceesteiner62 That's actually a good question, and one I can't immediately answer. I'll look into it, because all of his pieces that I've listened to just draw me in, and there's something very special that I can't put my finger on.

It sounds a bit too Germanic to be Scheherazade. Indeed it is noted this work is influenced by Schumann.

Unfortunately, that is the limitation of regenerative devices. There's no such thing in a device that makes a good sound
