18 November 2018, Nikolay Ivanov won the 2nd Prize and Friends of TROMP Audience Award of TROMP 2018. "Outstanding musicianship... Perfect and clean voicing, elegant." (TROMP 2018 jury)
In November 2018, 28 of the most talented percussionists from all over the world participated in the TROMP International Percussion Competition Eindhoven to gain a spot in the Final. The participants were selected by a international jury of acclaimed artists including Michael Burritt (USA), Martin Grubinger (Austria), Momoko Kamiya (Japan), Arnold Marinissen (The Netherlands), Mark Pekarsky (Russia), Emmanuel Séjourné (France), and Ruwen Yang (China).

His dynamics are the star of the show. Incredible performance. A fraction of 1% of people can memorize Bach and not get lost for 13 minutes.

no kiddin'. You gotta "actually" get it DOWN or you'll confuse various repeats of earlier melodies.

Bach is immense, the musician is amazing, but the audience applauding and shouting is indecent...

Wonderful....simply wonderful musicianship and sensitivity. And that's from someone whose first exposure to this piece was hearing Itzhak Perlman play it.

Wow, I've listened to many different examples of Bach's famous Chaconne, and I must say that this is one of the very best interpretations I've ever heard. Magnificent!

Astonishing! - and all done with just the 4 sticks (we organists need all our fingers and feet to make the most of a transcription of this, one of the greatest pieces of pure music ever written)

Afonso primo not all white marimba mallets are keiko abe models ;) these are actually Vibrawell Vassilena Serafimova signature mallets

Oh my lord, enough with the coughing and sneezing already! That’s so obnoxious. But I guess if they tried to hold it in, it’d go out the other way, and this talented young man certainly doesn’t need any more of a wind section accompaniment than they’re already giving him.
