Hi Nikol, I have recently lost three stones in weight and rarely wore makeup in recent years, just feeling it wasn’t worth making anything of myself, and being in my 50’s looking older than my years and very tired. Your channel has really inspired me though, and for the first time in years, have started to take some pride in my appearance, and start using makeup again, so I wanted to say a massive thank you! I have been having a self pitty party. Well yesterday I got up off my couch and started playing around with my makeup. And , girl, I tried your tricks. A guy came to me when I went for my walk and told me I looked nice today. I shot my head up high and strutted my stuff. Flung my hair back with my hand. I told myself no more pity parties. I’m beautiful. Thank you in teaching me how to use makeup at 65.

I remember in the 70’s my grandma had this. She had so much high end (from Nordstrom) makeup and skincare, every time I’d visit I would make a beeline straight to the bathroom and play with all of it. I’m so glad she let me and I loved this lipstick.

I used Black Honey back in the 70's. I am 77 years old so I have tried a lot of makeup companies. I loved Clinque's packaging back then with the pale green compacts and the boxing with the , I think, floral pink and green design. I remember that the Black Honey came in a regular tube, silver with raised lines around it. I think I am remembering correctly.

Yes-loved Clinique - Black Honey was the regular lipstick in the little light green tube you could get in the bonuses - I remember at one point having more tubes than I could use.

I had a tube of this in 1987... Loved it. Haven't had any since...may check it out again. Heard they had a blush in it too? I worked for Clinique in the late 80's early 90's...it is a great skincare line for problem skin!!!

Hi Nikol, you are so right about Clinique’s Black Honey! I’m 70 yrs and I’ve been using it for decades. Don’t get me wrong, I have owned probably hundreds of lipsticks during this time but I always come back to my tried and true Black Honey! The look you created today is so elegant but simple at the same time! Very pretty! Very easy to teach someone about makeup application when you are young and line, sag , and wrinkle free! But as we become older, it’s never t that easy! I love it that your channel doesn’t preach anti aging but you teach us to celebrate our age and that we can still look gorgeous while having grown children and perhaps even being called Grandma! @@cathygiuliana9089 You know at the bottom of most makeup there is an icon that looks like a little jar with a number inside. That number will tell you how many months to keep. My foundation from Armani says 12 and my Chanel mascara says 6, however, a beauty stylist from Nordstrom told me that if you can still get swipe product onto the top of your tube, then you can use it longer. That is, as long as it still looks good and doesn't clump.

Nikol, I just wanted you to know how helpful your KZfaq has been for me. I have been following you for quite some time now and have learned so much from you. I am 55 years young and really haven't worn much makeup over the years. When I hit my middle 30's I started to take more of an intrrest. Prior to that I wore just the bare minimum. I love how you make it non-threatening and non-overwhelming. Most people make it so difficult when trying to teach people how to apply make-up. Yoy on the other hand make it fun, easy, and enjoyable. Used Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick for almost 30 years since I was first able to buy makeup. Still love it just as much. It is my go-to tinted balm. Truly appreciated the step by step you do for a classic elegant look without a TON of brushes and sponges and tools. I love that you use fingers, too.

I bought a Clinique Black Honey lip color after seeing this video, and then put Black Honey on my top lip and Burt's Bees $5.99 "Fig" Lip Shimmer from Walgreen's on my bottom lip. They are completely indistinguishable from each other, and both are smooth and emollient. Great color for most people but huge difference in price! Thanks for your always wonderful videos.

I started wearing Clinique when I was 21 years old. I’m 65 now and I still work clinic. They had a lipstick that I wore for 30 years called pink chocolate. It was the perfect is perfect pinky brown lipstick and I always got a ton of compliments. That’s funny because I didn’t even care for the black honey. I thought it was a little slippery and didn’t last long enough.

I really enjoy your videos. I'm 65 and I am at my wits end regarding foundation. I have spent so much money and effort trying to find one that doesn't make me look all cakey and older. I've tried primers too thinking that was the problem, to no avail. I do have large pores and uneven textured skin. Getting older is such a challenge.

So happy someone is finally showing these Clinique Chubby eyeshadow’s. I’ve used it exclusively for years and love this product. Stays put, has perfect texture, and Clinique thankfully still has my favorite color available. Black Honey lipstick came out when I was in high school! Couldn’t wear the berry-hued color then, and still can’t.

Wow! Absolutely beautiful Nikol! This video truly highlights, for me, that skin care is essential. Also, quantity is not what makes the look, but quality products and proper application. A little goes a long way. I'm so impressed at how much you achieve without having to use layer after layer after layer of products. I learn so much from you. Thank you! M.Matta P.S.: Just a little background story on me: I was introduced to Clinique at a very young age, pre-teen, while tagging along with my aunt at a shopping mall. It was the very first department store, (Kaufmann's), beauty/skincare line I made a purchase from, but somehow I have missed out on the Black Honey all these decades. More recently, like maybe several years ago, Clinique came out with a companion lipstick, Almost Honey. Pinkish, with the same sheer finish as Black Honey. And just this year, they produced a multi-pan eyeshadow kit named Black Honey, based on the dark brown-berry color. Emily Noel did a video on this shadow kit and loved it. But Clinique's powder eyeshadow formula never did it for me. And their chubby stick shadows couldn't be sharpened enough for my taste. But I loved - and still love - their skinny wood eyeliner pencil in the color Charcoal Brown (color-duped by CoverGirl's retractable Gray Khaki for way less $). They also put out a loose banana powder with a retractable brush several years ago, intended to be a "baking" color corrector, but it didn't quite do the job for my rosacea-ravaged skin, so I used it as a finishing powder. And of course I used their Dramatically Different OG moisturizer and their 7 day Scrub Cream, before the rosacea came along. Clinique and I go way back.

Another wonderful video! I have a tinful of lipsticks, several of them vintage Clinique (I like the old metal tubes), so I went to my stash to see if I had Black Honey. I knew I had a Black Current, but it's not by Clinique. Sure enough! There was Black Honey No. BA6 Almost Lipstick! I tried it on over a lip balm, and it went on as smoothly as if I just bought it. I know I've had this tube since the 80s! Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane. I enjoyed reading the other comments, too.

I bought Black Honey recently, it is lovely, but as it's more like a tinted balm it wears down quite fast. In terms of colour, it's very similar to Burt's Bees tinted lip balm in Red Dahlia

The skin around your eyes are smooth with no visible lines which makes the application of concealers and eye shadows, so much more fun and the end results, beautiful. I was also imagining you with hair colors other than your lovely gray hair, and realized that if you color your hair, you won't look a day older than 35. Good for you that any hair color, even gray looks nice on you. I wish I could be this lucky, for, not only I have a little bit of puff under my eyes - which were there since childhood - but also am starting to see fine lines starting to show up around my eyes. These two factors make the application of even the lightest of concealers, a pain, and application of eye shadows a very difficult task since they seem to enhance the puff under my eyes. I used to work behind the counter in cosmetics and fragrance in the late 80"s and 90"s and I totally remember the Clinique heyday! So many fun products and their GWP's (gifts with purchase) were the best!!

The very first brand I invested in was Clinique. I used the cleanser, toner and moisturizer, as well as the eye makeup. It was targeted at youthful women who didn’t want to wear parent company Estee’ Lauder products as their mom’s generation did. I wish we all wore SPF in those days, because that and some sort of Retin A product is really the ticket to maintaining good skin into our ‘third chapters’.

Clinque Raspberry Glace has been my go to for so many years, it is a beautiful colour for any age and now with grey hair it still works beautifully. Another classic like Black Honey.

Your look today is soooo timeless! It would suit any age and era, really. You look very fresh and natural. Thanks for showing this! Black Honey is a really universal shade; I wore it back in the 90s as a Casper-white teen (though Pink Chocolate was my standby back then) and my very dark-skinned friend wore it, too, and it was honestly so gorgeous and natural on her, and I think that’s because it’s kind of a thinned-out blood shade. One thing we have now that we didn’t have before are much more readily available dupes for Black Honey, so a quick Google when you can’t find the real thing can stave off the craving. One thing that tickles me is the young ones flocking to it, believing it’s “new,” and we did the same in the nineties. Black Honey has been around and around!

Me too! I’ve lost too much pigment in my skin and hair now to wear it but if you layer CT Pillow Talk (or one of the myriad and beautiful dupes) over a brown-y lipliner, it looks the same as Pink Chocolate.

Black Honey! Hey, I remember that! I was a teen in the mid 70s when I started using that. It was in a little pot, a fabulous lip gloss that I used on the daily; it was my go-to for years!

I am 72 and I have been wearing black honey for twenty something years. I just had to get a new tube and had to wait for it longer than ever before. I keep buying it because it actually looks like the color of my lips so I feel Its very natural on me but makes my lips glossy. My skin is feeling the effects of Florida sun and I am wondering if it is time for me to try some different moisturizers. So beautiful! Back in the day Shiseido had a similar sheer lippie so beautiful! So glad that Clinique kept their version. Just saw that Merit has a lip oil tint that perhaps has some similarities, called Sangria.will have to buy it to try it.

Nikol, I’m 68 and have always aged well until recently. A few months ago, I discovered your videos and makeup line and suggestions for others, and I’m thrilled that you address aging skin and feature techniques for aging women. My recent issues that has cropped up are lip lines and slight marionette lines. They was surprised to see them develop, because I don’t smoke, but realized I do unknowingly pucker my mouth pretty often. Knowing there are no inexpensive ways to address these lines, is the a good makeup technique to minimize them?

Oh wow, I remember this lipstick - I used to always have it! It's been years since I've worn it. Didn't really know they still made it. So cool! I've been using the L'Oreal Lash Primer for a long time - great product.
