This is one of the best videos on Nikon AF modes that confuses even well initiated Nikon guys. AF is one of the great strengths of Nikon cameras and without a proper understanding of all the modes, we will be wasting the investment we made on our cameras. Great job Steve in explaining this in a very simple, concise and effective manner. I was already on AF-ON focus mode but now switched to AF-C mode to complement. Thanks a lot again!

I follow and watch several KZfaq channels on photography and although they explain what they are doing and what settings they are using, it is only so much help when you don't fully understand what exactly all the settings do. So I'm very glad I found your channel as it is a precise explanation in laymen terms, which is what I need. Some of what you mentioned here actually made me realize why a certain portion of my images weren't coming out crisp enough so many thanks for that. Onto the next video now..!

Steve Perry is a Nikon Grand Wizard. I bought his e books and can attest - they are jammed packed with useful information. Also, call me a slow learner, but I've watched this video several times and get something new out of it each time. The problem with AutoFocus is that we just don't mess with it a lot. It's usually set it and forget, until you run into a situation that calls for a change. I was shooting my dog catching a ball the other day and was dismayed that the shots were blurry. I spooled up this video and reminded myself about AF-C d9 and wala. Sharp as a tack.

I've been on dynamic 51 thinking it was what allowed me to use all 51 points 😭 finally I can nail those eyes!

I just purchased a Nikon D500. I am a former Navy Photographer who grew up on Speed Graphics, Leica’s, and Nikon F/F2's. Quite a culture shock! To get myself up to speed on the D500 (and AF in particular), all of your videos have been a God Send. So, living in San Diego, I have started with using Pelicans as my subject. Low and Slow! Once I get good focus results I will shift to Seagulls. Faster and much more unpredictable. I will be successful when I can lock on finches, humming birds and all those other little birds that rapidly flitter about! Glad you are here to be such a great guide! BTW, First thing I did was buy your e-book. Great work!
