I have to agree with you again Matt. If weight and size is not a factor the D750 for landscapes and nature would be ideal. But, if size and weight is a factor, consider the G9, it does amazing wildlife, and landscapes. And DUAL IS 2 allows you to shoot without a tripod for video and photo into the dark hours of twilight. And the equivalent of the 100-300 lens in Lumix is 200 to 600mm in FF. Consider having to lug around a huge tripod, huge lenses, heavy camera body, and a gimbal head to get the same image quality vs a G9 hand held. Size and weight has physical limitations that impact image quality as well as getting into locations that are remote.

I have all 3 cameras, D750 is the best of the 3 for resolution (Studio & landscape), D500 for Sport & Wildlife (can't be beaten at price), but I would recommend G9 as you stated weight & stabilisation to be important it is also great all rounder & is compatible with Olympus lens giving you a Good choice of reasonable priced glass. None of these are bad cameras, go to a good dealer or show & try them for your self, handling is as important as specifications. Thanks Alan Mc.

"Minimum weight and maximum stabilization" - MFT G9 springs up in mind, as MFT sensors are smallest, thus lenses will be also smallest. And G9 body contains IBIS. Good lenses are recommended for best results (as only high-end cameras are mentioned). For landscape, Sharpest standard zooms: Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 II ASPH. POWER O.I.S. ($898) or Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO ($800). Sharpest wide zoom: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO ($1,300). For wild-life, Sharpest telezooms: Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 35-100mm f/2.8 II POWER O.I.S. ($998) Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO ($1,400) Super tele (greater reach, only primes are sharp enough): Panasonic Leica DG Elmarit 200mm f/2.8 POWER O.I.S. ($2,998) Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4 IS PRO ($2,500)

Exactly, To take full advantage of camera's features, the best lenses should be used. Especially for FF and high resolution cameras.

You can get awesome photos with every one of these cameras!! Definitely agree that if you're worried about weight and stabilization, the G9 would be the way to go. I had this same debate. Try comparing the Panasonic 100-400mm (200-800 mm FF equivalent) in size to a Nikon counterpart. Additionally the IBIS combined with lens IS seems to be what the writer wants. The body of the G9 isn't much smaller but it's really the lenses where you save in weight and size. Finally Panasonic is wayyy ahead of Nikon with video (but hopefully that'll change in a couple of days...) if you wanted to do video too. Unless you will be doing semi-pro/professional work I think you would be fine with any of these cameras. Don't let the FF fanboys get you down...I've seen so many great photos including landscape and nature on M43! Thanks as always for your videos Matt!!

Nice quick video mate,, I got GH4 and am getting more photography jobs than before, but am still video guy. To upgrade Your advise Gh5 or G9,?one important factor I don't want to lose the quality video that I use to see from my GH4. Forgot to mention, as stills I do only food photography and mostly real estate

If you want to shoot animals and wide/far reaching landscapes, the G9 is a good start for that. Plus, cheaper lenses in the telephoto space and sharp as well for the category are a welcome addition. For weight, the lenses saves much weight. So for hiking and all travelling, it's a better option. Great image quality, but on low light you need to depend on IBIS and lower SS if needed. It has a great DR according to reviews too. Still, for video, the G9 is great, but has its limitations for being stills centric - unlike the GH5 and s for comparison. However, its great lol. Tho all the cameras mentioned are great, but you just need to find which is your prefered camera for the job. Just based the answer on the question stated in the vid.

If stills only, I would go with either the D750 or the D810, since the main goal will be to get the best overall images in as many lighting situations as possible.

The questions mentioned stabilization. Probably puts G9 on top. Questions mentioned minimum weight and size. That kills Nikon. Personally I just sold 25 years of Nikon stuff and struggled with the same question. For me it is full frame Sony A7lll or super stabilization G9. I bought the Sony.

For minimum weight and maximum stabilization, I think the G9 would have to be the way to go. I believe you get an amazing 6 stops of stabilization and M4/3 lenses are smaller and lighter than full frame or APSC, especially when it comes to longer telephoto lenses that you say you are interested in for shooting animals. 20MP is just fine but you do have the option for 80MP on the G9 for static subjects. Sounds like you are doing mainly stills, but then with the G9 you also have the option for high quality 4K video.

Hi I'm looking at either the nikon d750 or the d810 I currently have a 50mm 1.8g lens and would like to also get either the 24-120 f4 or the 24-85 plus 70-300 VR these would be about the same price used and am wondering if I would get sharper images with the 2 lenses over 1. I shoot as a hobbyist everything from landscapes to wildlife. What do you recommend?

Generally agree MFT has real limitations for nature and landscape and seems to be slowly dying. If really into birds and wildlife go D500 nothing else like it.

Get a d750 for low light and a d3300 for nature best of both worlds and still cheaper than a d500. D750 has a magic sensor.

If minimum weight and maximum stabilisation are your goals first and foremost the G9 is the clear winner here. All 3 cameras are excellent but they are also very different and compromises will be made whichever you choose. The D750 will be the bulkiest by virtue of having that full frame sensor. It will be great for landscape but I wouldn't choose it as a wildlife camera. That's where the D500 comes in with its excellent AF and high FPS, in addition to the extra reach the 1.5X crop gives, perfect for wildlife. The Nikon's will be heavier, require larger lenses and neither have in body stabilisation. Honestly, try them all before you buy because none are a cheap investment.

I recently sold my D810 in favour of a D750 here in 2022 I have owned D600 D610 D800 D800e and D810 and all things considered the D750 beats them all The resolution of the 800 series is great but unless I was making really big prints it is really overkill, especially considering the sluggishness on my computer and storage In the digital/internet world the large 800 series images need to be downsized anyway The auto focus system on the D750 is superior to the D810 IMHO and the flip screen seals the deal Current prices are very attractive No regrets whatsoever

Grab a d500! Thats the flagship dx camera from Nikon. Its a professional level camera like the d850 but with a smaller sensor. Its the true replacement for the awesome d300s from 10 years ago. Dont get a d750 its plagued with sensor/shutter issues. Just my 2 cents. Cheers buddy.
