Thank you for watching - sounds like a good call but I would keep both. The GoPro is so small it can get into small spaces... like the under the hood of a car!

I bought the Nikon Z30 just end of June 2023, it's a great little camera. It's now my everyday walkaround, and travel camera.

Bought the Z30 last year and use it for my Zoom meetings and street photography. I use my Z7 and Z9 for my Pro work.

I'm looking to livestream church services and other events. How does the z30 hold up? Is there continuous power adapter? Does it overheat? Does it stay on or does it cut off after a few minutes operating as a Webcam? Thanks.

@@craftechartdesign9403 The Z30 will overheat I'm sorry to say. The camera is small and there by heats up and causes a shutdown. The Z30 does have continuous power thru the usb port. I use the Z30 for my Zoom meetings which last about 2 hrs. and I had heat issues twice. Good Luck...

Thank you very helpful! I have both z50 and z50, mainly interested in photography, feel towards of holding on to the z30 and selling the z50 for now. I don't really use the evf and software seems more up to date on the z30

Joseph, Thanks for your review. I’ve had the Z50 since its launch. But I’m actually thinking of getting a Z30 to use with the compact 16-50 as my edc. Then when traveling i can leave the dx 12-28 on the z30 while i use the 18-140 or 50-250 on the z50. And i have a second body if the other body fails. I have hesitated due to concerns of the LCD use in sunny conditions. But i like your idea of adding the LCD brightness to the ‘I’ menu.

I have own a Nikon d5100 for 15 years now and I do consider getting this camera too for video purpose and also for the advanced sensor and modern camera. No doubt the d5100 will stay with me as well but I just love this small affordable and capable camera. Thanks for the good review

I'm thinking about buying the z30 for streaming an podcast recording because of the no limit recording time. For now i'm super happy with my Z50 an the Z6II.

How does the z50 and z6ii work for livestreaming. I'm looking to use two of these (including the z30) for livestreaming events. Is continuous power easy, is overheating an issue, is the webcam feature always on or it cuts off after a few minutes?

Help needed - can I use this camera for wide angle professional architectural photography and landscape photography. Also can pictures be enlarged without losing sharpness? Is the 16 -50 mm lens range on crop sensor adequate to take pictures of large monuments or interiors of large monuments. Please help.

On a crop sensor camera, you would need a 10 mm lens to be at the same field of view as a full frame camera with a 14 mm lens. A 16 mm lens would equate to the field of view of about 24 mm on full frame. You can certainly use a 16 mm lens. It just depends on what you are shooting and the field of view that you desire.

@ShutterSpeak - hello. Thank you for your quick response. I do monument photography as a hobby. My previous cams were all point n shoots. Was planning to upgrade to a serious camera within 1000 USD. I did pick up the Z30 today with the 16-50 mm lens. I plan to go n shoot a few things tomorrow. Will update then. Thanks 😊

As a Nikon shooter my opinion would be biased. My opinion is you can't beat the colors that come from a Nikon camera.

Great stuff Joseph. How do you find the audio recording and the mic input?

Good question -- Audio recording using the mic input seems to work the same as any Nikon Z camera. I never use the top mic for anything I post on KZfaq but they work as expected when tested as well. Okay but not near as good as using a mic.

Thank you Joe for your video and your channel. Great information here. As our name has it Jedis for Jesus we are big fans of Star Wars and Star Trek. Please check out our channel. I love your background on your video. Have a question for the Z 30 if I wanted to have external power for AC and DC what would you recommend me purchasing for this camera? Just to make sure I asked the right question is there a device that I can plug into an outlet and when there is no outlet into a battery. Haven’t bought a camera for over 15 years. A lot to learn with the Nikon Z 30. Just to let you know I googled “using a external power source for a nikon z 30” and your video came up.
