I have watched just about every video on KZfaq regarding CF express cards. Your video is by far the best! I just got a new Z8 and I’ve been very perplexed on which card to get but I think you have sold me on the Delkin black! Thanks a bunch I really appreciate your help.

Good information indeed. I bought Angelbird AV PRO SE 512 GB at a price of 219 Euro, which equates to little over USD 230. I did a quick performance test and found roughly the same result as with the 160G card. This card too has some problems ejecting the card. It would be nice though to see this card tested in a next edition and perhaps add some comments from Angelbird.

Ngl, I'd go with Sabrent anyday for value for money if I just shoot photos and need space. And I'd go with AngelBird/Delkin for hybrid use.

Im coming from a Nikon z6 where I had used Sony 32 GB XQD cards (read: 440mbs and write: 400mbs) for many years and they were great cards with that camera. As the years went on I got more involved with video and got the z8. When shooting in N-Log , Prores 422 HQ 10 bit, 4k60fps I can only capture a maximum of 15 second clips at a time. I can record multiple clips, but only 15 seconds long. My question is, is this the camera compensating for buffering and knowing the card can only write for this long before is exceeds its limits? is there some type of video settings or recording limit I need to change? The card is completely empty on storage so I know it has more space than that. I plan to get an actual CF Express B card with higher speeds here soon to shoot RAW but it was nice knowing I had these cards and could potentially get some footage with them, but maybe not.

I just watched your CF Card video for the Z8. I'm surprised how different the Sabrent results are from this video (last place) to the Z8 video (first or second place, depending on your needs). Any idea why such a difference from the Z9 tests to the Z8 tests?

@4:27 I disagree. The Delkin maintained the 20fps burst rate longer than the Angelbird by at least 10 frames, and that is shown clearly. I own Sony Tough 256GB, Delkin Black 325GB, and Cobalt 325GB Gen 1 and 2. The Delkin Black is the best of these, but the Cobalt 325GB Gen 2 is not far behind. The Lexar Diamond cards are roughly on par with the Delkin Black, but not available above 256GB yet. All of these will record 8k60 NRAW until the card is full except the Sony Tough. The Cobalt 325GB Gen 1 is worse for bursts than the Sony Tough 256GB card by a lot, but it does record 8k60 NRAW just fine and Sony Tough can't. Another thing you should test is one card vs two cards inserted in camera. I have found in the Z9 that some expected and unexpected things can happen. It is expected that if you set the camera to backup mode, i.e., write all bursts to both cards simultaneously, performance will be impacted and for sure limited to the slowest card that is inserted. That should not surprise anyone. What is unexpected is that different cards act differently when a second card is or is not inserted in the camera. I have found that the Delkin Black cards perform consistently the best no matter what, i.e., only one card inserted, two cards inserted in backup mode, two cards inserted no backup mode, and so forth. The Sony Tough cards are pretty much the opposite. One card inserted does ok in bursts, but two cards inserted whether in backup mode or not will perform far worse. You are actually better off only having one Sony Tough card inserted than having a second one installed and not in backup mode. The Cobalt's act more like the Delkin Blacks, but there is an impact with a second card inserted and not in backup mode. I point this out for folks that buy these cards and maybe can't get the performance numbers others report. So far, IMO, Delkin Blacks are great performers whether its one or two cards inserted in whatever mode. From what I have read, the Lexar Diamonds are also great in this respect. It can be a bit of a mixed bag with others.

Its the small volem for 8k raw. The fucher is not support 8k raw

Can you please review the Ritz Gear 1 Tb CF card on a Nikon Z9? My Nikon Z9 for some reason does not recognize the 1 Tb Ritz Gear card. I bought another one and it still does not recognize it. I am formating them using a Ritz Gear CF card adapter. It formats for over 10 minutes and makes the card reader hot hot. I had to place a fan to keep the card reader cool.

You’ve measured the Angelbird at the wrong place. The sicker is hiding the white hot innards. Measure just above the sticker. That’s where you’ll know the actual temp. No other card is glowing as hot as the Angelbird. Have a look

Good information on the cards you tested and I agree with you on the size issue of the AB cards. I use the Delkin Black and Prograde Gold with no issues. I would like to see you test the Prograde Cobalt/Gold, QXD (Sony and SanDisk) and the Nikon card. Is the AB card the markII version and what was the fifth card in your testing? I think Delkin and Prograde are the best overall options and i believe Prograde is recommended by Nikon.

Angelbird reliability is questionable. The balance of this list is the delkin,very fast and reliable .

If you’re counting the peaks the Delkin looks better than the angelbird in terms of raw numbers. Not that it’s significant.

We need internal ssd for the price of the cameras.
