When I worked in a speaker shop we had a similar machine to magnetize the ferrite rings of the drivers. It was a small (2x2 ft?) platform with 2 large coils - 1 above and 1 below the platform. The platform was positioned so the ferrite rings to be magnetized were equidistant from each coil. The coils were connected to a control box fed by 220V. When you pressed the button there was a loud POP as the coils did their thing. I never thought about it but it makes sense that the driver was assembled before the ferrite rings were magnetized. Otherwise it would be difficult to center everything properly. This was so long ago I cannot remember if the driver was fully assembled (including the coil and the cone) before magnetizing or just the frame/core/rings/back plate were there. Also found out that if a ferrite broke after being magnetized it was a pain in the butt to try to remove all the pieces from the speaker basket. The basket is what the metal frame of the speaker driver is called.

natural magnets like that are created by having the electrons of the constituent molecules (well the atoms of said molecules but...) aligned so all of them favor a particular direction/side of the magnet as a whole... this creates a positive and negative pole which creates a magnetic field When you heat the metal the (relatively) solid structure of the molecules start moving and wiggling around and even without having to melt and become a liquid, it is enough to let the positive and negative poles equalize within the magnet as the various molecules randomize their alignment and you wind up no magnetic field worth mentioning. The machine uses a magnetic field generated using electromagnets to polarize the metal block, giving it back its magnetic property. In fact the machine made the poles even more unbalanced so the resulting magnetic field was stronger. A fun experiment you could try is if you check the poles of the cube using another hand held magnet, then paint/mark the side of the cube that sticks to your other magnet. De-magnetize the cube, then keep track of the orientation of it as you re-magnetize it, see if you cant get the poles flipped 90 or 180 degrees so the coloured side of the cube doesn't stick but repels the other magnet even when it is magnetic again.

Whenever a magnet loses it's magnetic features, it keeps only a few amount of it's magnetic features. Meaning each time a magnetic material loses then regains magnetic features, it's magnetisation becomes stronger.

For those wondering about the science behind it, in magnets, all the electrons in the atoms are "pointing" the same direction, and so they create a consistent magnetic field, this is called ferromagnetism. When he heats up the magnet, he gives the electrons enough energy to scramble in whatever way they want, and so on average, no consistent magnetic field pointing in one direction forms - so the magnetism is lost. Lastly, when he puts it in an extremely strong electric field, the electrons all react and get oriented in the same direction, thus making it magnetic again.

For those wondering, the heat scrambles the magnetic domains inside the magnet, disrupting any magnetic force it was previously generating. The magnetizer then realigned all of them even more uniformly than it was before the heat was applied, hence the increase in force.

If you look online you will find different strengths of neodymium magnets, with the strongest being the most expensive. If the only difference between the magnets is the power at which they were magnetized, you might have found a neat side hustle.

I work in a fabricator shop that did projects for theme parks. One of them was a roller coaster ride that had a braking system made up of copper plates and neodymium magnet house in something like 4 foot long containers about 7 in.² and after about 40 or 50 of those assemblies , they were placed on either the track or the cars in order to stop ride cars coming into the ride station. Long of the short of it is while each 4 foot long container held about 200 (of the one and a half inch square magnets), during shipment of these cubes, a few had corners chipped off and we left them out of the tube assemblies. Note that just two stuck together were nearly impossible to separate by hand. More amazing is that while a single magnet sat on a polished granite inspection table, if you walked within several feet of the one on the table, depending on how you held the one in your hand, you were really lucky not not have severed a finger or two when the mags collided. Also I found that mag card readers had been be reprogrammed after nearing a cube mag to it.
