Like callen8000 said, I LOVE the way Brower recognized that Steinkuehler was hurt, immediately stopped wrestling, basically indicated to him to stay down and then tell the ref 'he's hurt.' That is really a TRUE gentleman and sportsman. And such a rarity today. I didn't think they made them like this anymore with this younger generation! Kudos to Brower. You can tell he really cared about the kid.

Kole is the reigning 3A state champion…aggressive, strong, and a true sportsman. He stopped wrestling and told the referee “he’s hurt” early in the match, foregoing an advantage out of concern for his opponent. That’s class. And Lennon has a current trackwrestling record of 32-11, strong in his own right. Classy also is Midwest Wrestle’s extraordinary video work, placing you right on the mat, in focus and steady.

This certainly seems to be one of the oddest MW wrestling videos you have posted. Was it a training match?

Red was injured prior to the match. He could have chosen to medically forfeit rather than wrestle, but if he had done so, the opposing team would have earned six team points. By choosing to wrestle through his injury, he denied the opposing team two bonus points, since he was able to limit the loss to a 16-6 Major Decision, worth only four team points instead.

@@MidwestWrestle Well, that shows that Lennon, too, is a sportsman...team first, even at his own expense. Being hurt and getting on the mat with a state champion takes some serious courage.

@@jeffjarboe3634 Which rule, specifically? That a forfeit is worth six points? If anything less was awarded (e.g. four team points), that would be penalizing the opposing team. Teams with lower-skilled wrestlers would game the system by claiming forfeits rather risking their wrestler getting pinned (six team points).
