For the 25th iteration, ASICS gives the Nimbus only the things that I like and took out all the things I didn’t like. This is the Nimbus 25, and it is really really good.

Literally I’ve been Hoka for the past 4 years was strictly Asics for a while but they really lost me as each shoe felt like it was a relic from an older generation. The nimbus 25 finally feels like they’ve fucked off the old shit and redesigned everything feels great

For my fellow nurses, I just tried the More v4 at work and it did not work well for me. I often wear my old More v3, which is super comfy but the v4 felt like I was walking in sand all day because it was too mushy. I've also used some old Altra Torins and they are pretty good. The Nimbus 25, with its firmer foam and max cushioning looks like a great work shoe.

I have avoided buying a max cushion shoe all these years because every time I’ve tried them on they’ve felt either clumsy, awkward, unstable, heavy or dull. I’ve primarily used the Sauc. Speed 1 & 2 for my marathon training LR’s but now that I have better racing shoes in my collection I decided to try all the max cush options again to see if I could find one specifically for LSD & recovery. For my petite, light weight biomechanics, the Nimbus25 felt the most like a “normal” shoe of any I’ve tried and felt more lively than, eg., the More4. Most options either had some issue with the uppers that would annoy me-especially that long on my feet-or just didn’t work for me in one way or another, at least based on the test on the sidewalk outside the store. We’ll see if I like even having this category of shoe; to be determined 😊

Thanks K, nice review as usual!! I tried this on in the store where I work and had to size down by 1/2. Haven’t tried to run in it yet but will probably give it a go at some point. I think it’s nice that the price remained the same. 👍 The Triumph is not nearly as stable as the N25. The More v4 is just way too much shoe for me.

Same here in The Netherlands, 200 Euro's. Ridiculous price for a 'normal' running shoe. I have bought the Novablas 2 because everybody loved that shoe so much back then. It's a good shoe but it lacks a bit of comfort/bounce for me what I was hoping to get. So no Asics for me anymore.

Great for your long slower runs, exceptionally comfortable. Saw a few reviews that said they run narrow, but I have quite a wide foot and I have had no issues whatsoever. In fact they seem quite roomy which is perfect as it allows your foot to swell a bit. Totally true to size in my opinion. A great addition to my rotation and i would highly recommend .

Great looking shoe. Thanks for mentioning the issue with rocker. I just got the NB 1080v12, my first pair of shoes with any rocker. It caught my attention the first time I stood up in them and Im really liking them on the run but I have wondered if they would work as an everyday shoe as a result of that rocker. Luckily I bought that pair specifically for running. Maybe some folks like standing around in that type of shoe, Im just not sure it’s for me. Seems like the rocker on the 1080s isn’t that aggressive compared to some others either.

I don't have a particular height or weight in mind when I say it, and one does not have to necessarily be both bigger and taller. but some people's footstrike hits the ground harder due to weight while others due to height. I try not to put undue emphasis on body size here on the channel, so I leave it up to people if they want to put themselves in the category, and the references are there to acknowledge the foam of some shoes may feel a bit firm to me but just perfect to others.

Alot of people are giving good reviews for this, but YOU HAVE TO TRY IT YOURSELF. I hated how unstable the gel nimbus 25 felt when worn, it made me feel wonky and made me fall whenever i squat down because the foams are way too soft to the point that i felt i was wearing balloons; there is no clear defined edge so you can easily roll over, roll back, roll to the sides if you walk on uneven ground. In the end, i went with their stability line, the kayano-29.

It’s important to figure out what kind of shoes a reviewer tends to like. And then find a reviewer who likes the kinds of shoes that you tend to like. That is what will make reviews helpful. You, for example, like stability shoes. So you will probably disagree with many shoes that I like, since I intentionally avoid stability shoes. It does not make either your or my opinion wrong.

I find the Triumph 20 to not be very friendly for the walk portion of run/walk training. This is because it is too unstable for me when changing pace. Is the new nimbus more friendly for the change?

more stable but a bit less squishy than the novablast 3. I'd say it is in-between the novablast 3 and a nimbus lite 3.

I found the thin tongue has made the laces hurting my mid foot~~ because there isn't much padding... and my big toes would get numb... if I loosen it, it its then a bit loose and the pain still retain... Do you have any suggesting how I can solve that?

Yip i have triangular feet and i have a tiny , thin , and very sharp heel (backwards pizza slice) and always have a hard time keeping my heel secure (even with racers) . I usually go .5 size down (if the forefoot upper allows and even that at times that does not work) .

Rebuilding my rotation after not running from a knee injury. If the chat can help me out, last shoes I’ve loved was the Mach 4, endorphin pro 1&3, endorphin edge, and Reebok float ride 2. I’ve been eyeing this and the endorphin shift 3 for recovery, long run, but also thinking about a gym shoe. What should I add?

Why does almost every running shoe have so much more cushioning in the heel vs the forefoot? When im running the heel isnt the part of the shoe which is under the most shock. Its the mid and forefoot area. Why dont they try to make a shoe which has more cushioning in the forefoot/mid area?

@kofuzi, does this outperform the SC Trainer in the 8-10min/mi range when you're looking for comfort for 4-6 miles runs? I currently use the Rebel v2 and V3 and love the FuelCell foam, just want to have more of it for my easy/steady runs and save the Rebels for a comfortable race day shoe where I'm running 7-7:30 pace. Does the SC Trainer offer more comfort in that speed range in your opinion?

I had the same question. Want something for long runs of different paces as well as easy recovery runs. Is the Nimbus or SC Trainer a better option?
@levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183
@levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183 Жыл бұрын
I don’t have the SC Trainer though I’ve tested it in-store when I chose the Nimbus25. It’d say for runs as short as 4-6 miles you don’t need the plushness of the Nimbus but on the other hand, the upper is far more comfortable than the SC Trainer (in my humble opinion). If you want less shoe than the Nimbus and SC Trainer you could also consider the Saucony Triumph-still plenty of shoe and comfortable.

@@levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183 The Triumph 20 has certainly caught my eye as well. I have flat/wide feet, I need the plushness because I tried running in about 20 shoes before settling on the FuelCell foam as being most comfortable for me.

Runners may not like the lack of bounce/responsiveness in Asics Gel-Nimbus 25. Perhaps it will be a competitor for Adidas Ultraboost in the comfortable lifestyle sneaker category. What do you think?
@kofuzi
@kofuzi Жыл бұрын
it is really comfortable for walking around in, being on your feet all day, and general casual wear. and I think it looks great. I'm not sure it will quite catch on from a fashion perspective like the UB, but of all the Nimbus versions, this one has the best chance to get kind of crossover appeal.
