This product has been discontinued, I found this chainsaw from Japan recycle shop. I rebuilt a new lithium battery pack for replacing the original dead battery.

- Nimh battery (15 cells)
- No BMS
- Power 27WAh
New Battery Pack
- Voltage 18V - 21V
- Capacity 6Ah
- Lithium battery (10 cells)
- 21V Battery Management Board (BMS)
- Power 120WAh
The new battery can run this chainsaw for about 3 hours

Thank you for listing the motor as 775. That allowed me to save my chainsaw when the motor burned up when the chain was hard stopped due to a pinch.

This is a great restoration. I have the very same chainsaw. You do not have to rebuild the battery for lithium ion though. You can buy a 20v lithium max adapter for about $8 and run it. Since I had Black & Decker tools that use 20 v lithium , this was easy. Worked great. Got much better performance out of the saw too.

I have the same saw also. I even did an additional mod. I replaced the 8 inch bar with a 14 inch bar and chain. Works great. I’m even able to use DEWALT batteries in it.

I modified the Ni-Cd battery with 10 lithium cells 30A (4,5 Ah) as you show : The saw worked one hour non stop perfectly on 6/15cm branches (dry and hard wood). The only issue with this engine is chain oil : only on the teeth but not enough in the bar groove. I must be careful.....But huge difference compared to the Ni-Cd!!!

Great job on this one.... Those saws are kinda limited, but yours really worked well above average, for that size of cordless saw.... And besides your hard core work on these items, I really do love the stickers you make, for your battery packs. Very nice!

What about the brushes on the motor. With such a great refresh I would worry about the condition of the motor and it’s intervals.

Tight fit with the cells. Good work! I've seen some manufacturers use LiPo pouches for cells in their batteries, would that work for your application? I'm certain they are more expensive/ less available for reuse.

Also more dangerous than Li-on, but more compact.

Li-Pol have much cobalt in it. So its chemical unstable and it will give less cycles than regular Li-Ion 18650. Sure it will give you huge amperage, also its very compact and lightweight. But I would not use it In my tools etc. also its expensive as hell. So its something for something.

Very good restoration 👍👍...but on a useless chainsaw: because its biggest issue is that the chain runs really too low , perhaps a little faster with lithium pack? Would it be possible here to use 24V without damage for the motor?

I think this chainsaw is used to cut a small branch of the tree, your idea is acceptable, increase the voltage up to 24V, it will have more power.

Top as usual ... I suggest a more challenging jobs, converting brushed AC or DC tools into DC brushless. It needs replacing the motor by similar size BLDC motor. It will be challenging in speed control and heat dissipation and may require overhead protection, as I think. Gampate
