My theory on Sylux: He's from the future, a time when Samus is no longer a bounty hunter for the Feds; she's either retired, dead, or fled to a different system to hide from the Federation. The Federation wanted their own sort of super soldier similar to Samus, so they started experimenting on some of their most elite soldiers with Sylux being one of them. He was the only one that survived the augmentations, but the pain and the loss of many of his fellow elite soldiers brought him to hate the Federation and also Samus for being the inspiration behind the project. He's come back in time to change his future, either by destroying the facilities that would later turn him into a cybernetic warrior or by destroying Samus to show future Federation leaders that she's not worth trying to copy.

I dont know if you guys remember, but in metroid prime 3 we had a very strong interaction with Warp Drives and Worm Holes, which are totally connected with space time bending and black holes. So It totally makes even more sense to experiment with that.

I don’t believe the facility where Sylux hatched and stole the Metroid is the same place as the Galactic Federation Research Station shown in the MP4 trailer. Not only has time passed since then, which is why Sylux is showing up with Mochtroids, but there were multiple Federation facilities on different planets in MP Federation Force as well as in other Metroid games, so this is just another different one. Also, please god don’t make Sylux into Samus’ brother, that would be so lame

Solomon is non canon though. My theory is that Sylux is Ian Malkovich. He managed to survive the critical failure of the ship. Perhaps getting to an escape pod. Hints how he was able to easily sneak into GF compounds because he has clearance. Able to steal a completely experimental suit and weapon. And then manages to sneak into another compound and steal a living Metroid. Something the GF would want to keep hidden and locked under high security. Not any regular Joe Schmoe would have that kind of access to locations like this. But someone who had GF clearances could easily sneak in. Solomon if brought into canon would NOT have such easy access to these things. But someone who felt betrayed by the Federation would. And boy would he try and screw them over as hard as he could. Plus Ian had a past relationship rather just being close or even possibly dated Samus. His bio states that Sylux only hates samus cause of her connection to the Galactic Federation. Meaning if Samus just stopped doing missions for them. Sylux would take her off his radar and solely focus on the GF. Which is what someone who was Close to Samus would do.

I personally hate the idea of Sylux being Samus's brother, but if I were to pitch an even stupider idea: What if it winds up being Joey from the (surprisingly not bad) Samus and Joey manga? Think of all the crazy stuff that would retroactively make canon!

One thing that is kinda disappointing is that it looks like this game isn't as open world as I was hoping for, based on the map. My dream was for Samus to explore the globe of an entire planet with caverns. I understand it's difficult to keep the metroidvania element in such an open world game, but I've thought of ways to make it work. I just hope it can have a scope to rival open world games of these days

All of the Metroid prime games take place between Metroid 1 and Metroid 2. They couldnt of taken place before Metroid 2 because samus wipes out the entire Metroid species other than the baby Metroid in that game. It’s more likely that’s super Metroid takes place eight years after prime 4 since that would still make sense with the dates.

Sakamoto is obsessed with awful, cheesy, cliché melodrama. He gave Samus daddy issues for Other M, and made Ravenbeak her genetic parent who was obsessed with his daughter, ruining a great game with a terrible ending of simply atrocious dialogue. I’m annoyed as it is that there’s another “Samus-like” dark mirror character serving as the primary antagonist again - I’d be livid it was her super-secret brother that no-one knew about who has come back for personal revenge. It sounds like deeply terrible fanfiction.
